Nankervis !!

The one thing from the little I've seen and read about him is he will crash a pack and make a contest , that is something Vickery never did, so hopefully it will bring Lloyd an Rioli into the game more.

That same quality should no doubt help in the ruck department as well.

Just on Vickery, I was talking to a premiership player last night, he thought Vickery is the worst second effort for war he has seen.

I'd add Edwards in there too. Say what you like about him, he can read the fall of the ball off a pack and create goals as well as anyone. Should see out his career as a small forward.

Geez I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do next year. I'm just so jade by these limited and/or disinterested and/or injured ruckmen we've had ruling the show in the last few years. For so long we've just neglected our ruck stocks (probably due to somehow think Griffiths or Vickery would become bonafide ruckmen which imo they were never going to be).

Blind hope because there's nothing else on the list.

No evidence that he can play as a forward.

He is a competitor and he competes.

2nd and 3rd efforts a highlight.

Has good ceiling of potential.

This guy will assist greatly Hammer and Griffiths.
Alot of people have knock Hammer, he actually did well this year.
You obviously have low expectation on what a good ruckman is. Hampson improved last year from a very low base but will never be a top ruck

Apart from the fact that he is a ruck forward who has played both as a ruck and a forward and kicked goals.

What goals? NEAFL? McBean would kick 150 at that level.

He has 3 goals in his 12 game career thus far.

Alot of people have knock Hammer, he actually did well this year. Hit outs and marks were at the high end. Our quality of mids were found out especially in the middle. WE WERE SMASHED.

I believe having this combination will benefit in many ways:
1. We have 3 ruck options in a game. There is always situations where the opposition ruckman can be the better of one player. Having 3 reduces the odds.
2. They have different styles and can actually ruck. Whereas Tyrone would always look to where the opposition ruckman was coming from. Didn't produce the goods in this position.
3. We don't lose out in the forward area. Nankervis/Hampson replaces him and will be hard to match. Hampson is tall, long whereas Nankervis is very strong body against body.

Great get Richmond

I think having 2 ruck options might be the norm next season after the Dogs set the standard in the finals.
Nankervis first ruck with Griffiths as the forward/ruckman, because Nankervis has the better all round game compared to Hampson.

Mcbean Has 1 goal from 5 games. evidence?
Nobody is saying Toby is the next locket, just that they believe he will be played as a forward, rotating ruck.
The same role he played with the swans.

Can anyone find how many goals he kicked in the NEAFL this year? There's a list in the NEAFL site but it only goes down to 19 goals (so TN obviously kicked less than 19.

Don't you just love the Pre-enders who are so quick to hammer a guy down before he has even pulled on a Tigers guernsey? Give the guy a chance and see what he can do in our colours, you could be surprised

Appears his your modern day starting ruck, who rests forward . At 22 looks like Sydneys done the apprenticeship for us and his ready to go without having to do the 4-6 year wait to see if the young ruck has any talent.

Still has to prove himself, however he looks to have more talent then Maric and Hampson did when we recruited them and the going price is usually a second rounder for his type, in theory we've done alright in this trade.

Sounds exciting, CC. Have we had a player like that in the last ten years?

For his aggression alone Nankervis is a very good addition.

I like the fact your a fan Jack, I haven't seen a lot, except I remember him catching my eye and thinking that I wished we had a ruckman with the "tude" he seem to have. Considering the experts say the draft stops at 40, it's a good get

He's only 22, he can get a kick, and he hurts people. That's all I know, brother. ;D

But for ND#46 he's a good get. Even strident anti traders like me are pro Nankervis. We should add another Nankervis next year too. Or even Coburg's Goodwin this year. It won't kill us to add some rucks.

Like how his highlights video shows him losing a duck contest in one clip.

Needs to get ultra fit being slightly undersized. Hope he can pressure hamster.

Only fair, we do all the development work for Derricks for Sydney now they return the favor :hihi

The point is, he improved from last year, I don't have figures, but I expect his marking total and hitout and goals were much higher. He improved! Not all of our players are at the top end, if all of players improve from previous years, that a big tick. we don't want to see them going backwards.

The other point, having Nankervis will Hampson and Griffiths will greatly impact on our ruck field plays.
