McLachlan and Hocking must resign!

Haven't both Gil and Dutton broken any laws over this?

Surprised they're still in their positions on reputation alone.

McLachlan is to face a senate inquiry into the au pair saga. He has looked very chastened of late and not his usual smooth confident self.

came out in the senate inquiry that Gil is a regular caller to immigration ministers.

argentinian Polo playing mate couldnt get a business visa (I know it sounds like im working the polo gag, but this is true)

so Gil rings the minister. "maaaaaaate"

The Grand Final probably has the whole argentinian polo side on comps, wondering where the horses and mallets are.

*smile* out of touch elite *smile*

Gil is a *smile* talking up the finals saying how great ticket sales are. Melbourne and Geelong can not even sell out the game.
Only two clubs can sell out and final and that is Richmond and Collingwood. Saying that Thursday are going to great. Hell but any other side on and no way would it be sold out.

We used to complain about Andrew Demetriou, now I'd welcome him back with open arms. Polo boy & Shocking are an absolute "blight" on the competition.
Corruption personified.

They need to be more accountable across the board.

These two look like they are running their own personal fiefdoms

Yeah, was just thinking the same. Unbelievably Gil makes Demestos look like a good operator.

So the competition commission has suggested the rule changes come in next season.

Can everyone who is over this disgusting group of morons trying to ruin our game, please make yourself heard!!!!

What a joke. If these changes stand I'm done with footy. It'll be a new sport.

We really have broken football.

The aim is to promote scoring and stifle team defence. The defence part is what we do better than any other club and these loonies on the panel can't hack it.

Also, how about consulting the public about it or at least all members of all clubs before making such drastic changes.

The public is the no.1 stakeholder of this sport as far as attendances and TV ratings are concerned. Spectators/fans bring in the money.

Hocking and Gil should resign and go try fix polo instead.

The new goalsquare just doesn't sit well with me, even just aesthetically it looks ridiculous and is a step too far. Nothing wrong with the game but Hocking making change for the sake of it to justify his likely exorbitant salary.

Entitled clowns changing the game because they can. The bright side is the changes will backfire and it will be another nail on Gil the Dil's coffin.

Yes but we the fans will have to live with it.

The rule that changes 2 substitutes to 4 on a rotating bench changed footy forever - has created the congestion and the look of 5 plus players coming in and off the ground at once.

That’s where the problem started - with a rule change to speed up the game has actually slowed it down

Clowns - dam clowns they have nfi

No issue with revising the interpretations of holding the ball, contact below the knees, nominating for the ruck etc. These things need work.

Would also agree that umpires have too many considerations to bear in mind when making judgements, and a simplification of the rules is welcome. But a blanket statement that you're going to cut the size of the rulebook in half - at least - in the next 12 months is asking for trouble.

This could be where they finally jump the shark.

These muppets at the AFL live in their own bubble. It's disgraceful.
