McLachlan and Hocking must resign!

These *smile* have zero regard for the institutions of our game.

exhibit ZZ: the half time sprint.

since I can remember (40 years?), it was the same. fast players from VFL?AFL sides.

yesterday, everyone I was watching with was totally confused

'Jeez, who do these blokes plays for?'
'must be GWS?'

Great to see black kids succeeding,

but FFS, the AFL just hands a couple of fast kids a wild card?

they just keep *smile* with things. Its incremental, and its shitting me to tears.

what do they do next year? The cast of 'go back to where you came from' line up for the sprint?

the masterchefs have to run 25m eating single origin party pies, wearing telstra sandwich boards?

Im really *smile* over Gil and his mates.

nothing is sacred. nothing.

get *smile* Gil. you and all your fat mates can get *smile*.

The only rule changes should be removing all the rules they have put in the last 10 years.

yeah that was ridiculous and yet another half-baked idea. Either have it as the traditional AFL fastest player, or open it up nationwide to all players with lead up heats and a couple of semis on the day. Just plonking in ring-ins rendered it all a confusing joke.

Just heard Caro on the ABC say she overheard an AFL board member say to G McL after the GF 'why do we want to change the game again?'or words to that effect.

Because he wants polo as the number 1 sport in Australia!

They were going to look very stupid changing the rules, now after the last couple of months they are going to look unquestionably incompetent - that gives me hope. They may change the rules anyway due to their white private school boy sense of entitlement, but it will be the beginning of the end for those who do.

Although the pie runner issue wasn't as bad as it was made out to be, I think the issue with runners should be addressed.

Last year in the GF the crows runner would not get off the ground. Kept coaching players during the game. In the replay it didn't show how bad the problem was.
Should only come on after goals or a given short period of time or they get a fine. Even minimise how many times they come on the ground per qtr even.

As I posted on another thread, not realising this one had already been started.

Now the season is over attention will focus on the inane changes to the game.

Why the hell does Steve Hocking want to change everything??

Our "esteemed leader" of the AFL has just said recently that attendance figures for 2018 were an all time record.

The old saying is "if it is not broke don't fix it."

My uninformed take is that Hocking needs to justify his position and has therefore come up with these proposed changes.

Huge attendance figures, more than any other football code, or I suppose any other sporting events in Australia, excellent TV viewing, especially on Foxtel.

Every game live, except the GF on Fox, and gaining more viewers every year, so why change a winning formula I ask??

Your thoughts.

What happened to the rule changes? What are they waiting for? Have the AFL flogs lost their nerve?

They might not need to implement the rule changes now that we didnt win the GF ;)

This is exactly one thing I want to see changed; so agree. Can't stand the pink men on the ground all the time, deliberately filling holes, getting into spaces to deter kicks there etc. Get rid of them. As you say, only after goals and must be off pre-bounce.

But like all things AFL, it's not a matter so much of the rule (even if they make it so}, as the consistent application.

As Dimma says, do we really need them any more? With all that pre-game and in-game prep and coaching by a whole throng of coaches plus player leadership teams?

These politically correct imbeciles are slowly but surely destroying the very fabric of OUR game.

How much more crap do we have to take from these morons?

A BOYCOTT ROUND NEEDS TO BE ORGANISED TO GET THE MESSAGE THROUGH!
