See Goose McLachlan is putting it out there that he was headhunted for the Liverpool FC CEO job but knocked it back, he is such a humble bloke! We're so lucky to have him.

tigersnake said:Pretty sure Waleed's criticism of Warnie's foundation was spot on, most of the dough was being spent on admin, appointed a mate or relative to a high paid position, might have been more than one I can't recall the specifics, and I think it ended up being wound up. Warnie's motivation is pretty transparent, and disappointing.
There's actually very few of those fund raising foundations donate much more than about 5 or 6 % of revenue raised to the cause they're fund raising for. Massive shekels get generated but most of it goes to fees n charges for the fundraising event / function n staff to provide the entity to run the foundation. The E.J. Whitten game, Movember, Warnies, they're all started with wonderful intentions but the costs involved in running n promoting n managing these things chews up nearly all the money raised.Nico said:It was spot on. Think family members were on the payroll, lavish events were held, and the percentage of income actually donated to charity was very low compared to other foundations.
