Has anyone heard or read the specifics of why Lloyd left?

Has he definitely left? Matthew Lloyd mentioned on SEN that he had talked to him today but no mention of Brad quitting.

The thing I find astounding is that Fremantle were flying at the start of the year only to be savaged by injury to many of their key players. I really hate to revert to the classic injury excuse but they didn't even have one spare body on their list by the final round. Same thing happened to Hawthorn last year and as many expected, they bounced back into the top 4 a year later. Very poor form by the Freo board and I hope they get punished by a player exodus, Mark Harvey deserved better and I'm glad the supporters are getting behind him in very difficult times.

Thats what you get when you have a couple of Corporate's running a club carte blanche with no feel for what makes a football club BH.

Rash decisions made on ego that will likely produce rash results. & a poor bottom line.

Right - not sure, just heard it repeated a few times. Seems a certain amount of unrest at Freo was the case - will find out the details in the wash I guess.

Rash on so many fronts Leysy, even from a financial perspective I'm left scratching my head. The sad part is that Ross Lyon stands to gain so much from the hard work of others which will vindicate the original decision, the supporters will forget the betrayal after a few wins and the historians will deem it to be a masterstroke if they make the top 4. Ross Lyon is just a freeloader in my opinion and is yet prove anything when it comes to player development, list building and most importantly, bringing home the silverware.

After everything I have seen today, I'm more convinced than ever that Lyon is an excellent coach. Not the nicest fella but one smart mofo.

Agree Tooheys. 63% win record and poached to be paid a million a year for four years after his his current club offered something similar Gets alleged hacks to be good footballers as well. Must be a shocking coach.

I hate the way Saints play but to disregard Lyons coaching ability is silly.

Heave ho.

Is it just me or is Harvey one of the bigger bogans in AFL? Reckon he has been shafted, has added some spine to a perenially flacky outfit. Will be interesting to see what Lyon does with them.

As an ex-fitzroy supporter its amazing to see a guy coach the opposite to how he played - Lyon had sublime skills, flew for speckys and kicked freak goals (and laid some sledgehammer H&S's in his time) yet coaches a very defensive accountable style of football. Could be a match made in heaven with the ho's.

Yeah he got Pattison, Polo, Clarke, Dawson, Gamble, Jones, Kosi, Blake, playing scintillating footy. Gave them enough chances as well.

He was also gifted with a lot of extremely talented players. Riewoldt, Goddard, Hayes, Dal Santo, Fisher, Montagna amongst others. Yet how many flags did he win?

Clarkson; now there's a good coach. He has done it all. Rossy is only interested in taking over a ready made team; not interested in the hard yards. Overrated coach.

Freeloader is a very good description of Wossy.

His mate Roosey was also a very attacking player. Not sure what happened in the meantime.

Does anyone have Richard Osborne or Mick Conlon's number?

I'm undecided if he is a good coach but he is very good under pressure which would help
He was getting smashed in the presser but stood up to it all
Dog bloke though ;D

Funny hearing Finey talking Lyon being part of the mile-high club :hihi
Just searched Wossy's presser on Youtube. First question from the Perth media:

"Ross, do you think you've stabbed Mark Harvey in the back?" Bang. :rofl :rofl :hihi :hihi They don't hold back over there. Better than the pussy matey matey journos over here.

That Finey grab from SEN re the mile high club was gold :hihi

The tank, now there's a footballer, he was doing the fend off before dusty was born. Still in fine nick too.

Great press conference. Some brutal grilling from the media. Great stuff. As much as I think Wossy is overrated as a coach he is a tough bastard and handled the situation well. The question remains though; if he has exercised a 3 month notice clause in his St.Kilda contract; wouldn't that mean he couldn't start working for Freo until December??

And who were the 2 Freo guys at the presser. I assume the one on the right was CEO Steve Rosich. The journos referred to the other as Mr. Harris. Is it Steve Harris who used to be CEO at Melbourne. I hope so; he was useless at Melbourne so hopefully he will be just as bad at Freo.

And does anyone know what comments Demetriou made? Harris referred to them as inappropriate and ill informed but didn't repeat them.

The Saints have said they won't hold Lyon to that part of the contract.

Haven't heard Demetrious comments and don't know the Freo blokes. Had to laugh at the media addressing them as Mister.

Good on Ross Lyon and the media are pathetic. Some of the questions were just rubbish. The repetition of 'loyalty' was just damn right annoying. Get out of the bubble australian media and get more sophistication to the questions. Lyon has shown loyalty to saints in his time at the club and thats all that matters
