Miller might beat him to 100 games. So do we need to get Lynch to 100 games ala Pickett? Is on 89. At his rate of games last 2 years, that'll be 2027.
Don't see the point. Can't see a club giving up much for a 32 year old player who gets injured sneezing these days. How many games has he played the last 2 years? We should be asking is any club interested.
Agree with nearly ALL of that Riddler, except last sentence.Don't see the point. Can't see a club giving up much for a 32 year old player who gets injured sneezing these days. How many games has he played the last 2 years?
Where are gonna have that many draft picks this year there is no point getting a late 2nd rounder and we won't need it. You'd only do it if you got a first rounder. Even then only clubs in the window may be interested so it's gonna be a mid-late teens pick probably. Just can't see a club giving up anything decent for him.
May as well keep him and try and limp him to 100 games so we get F/S rights. He plays he doesn't play we are still gonna be well down the bottom.
Consider it asked and move on I reckon.Biggest question would be is he going to be part of our next Premiership team or would be be better off sending him to a contender for a late first or second round pick?
Even though he's barely played for 2 seasons & is now 31 years of age, a team like Melbourne, Collingwood or Gold Coast may take the punt. A fit Lynch is still a carrot.
The other side of it is that he's a natural leader & a great club person. If he can get fit then he may turn our own fortunes around quickly too.
I do think it's worth asking the question though given where we are at on the Premiership clock..
But only 15 goals in his last 8 games which is 23/24. The majority of those goals were in 2022. 2025 is 4 seasons on. Unfortunately we're not going to get alot more out of him. Definitely don't see us anywhere near 7th next year. Particularly not if we give the farm away (Bolton/Rioli etc).Agree with nearly ALL of that Riddler, except last sentence.
As mentioned on previous page he has kicked 39 Goals from last 13 Games.
If he plays we won't be bottom 4, maybe 7th-13th.
But not bottom 4.
Don't discount The Tommy Gun.
Just needs the full pre season.
Thanks Blair.Consider it asked and move on I reckon.
Can't agree glove. A 32 year old beat up injury prone Lynch is not getting us out of the bottom 4 even if he is kicking 3 a game. We need a LOT more than that.Agree with nearly ALL of that Riddler, except last sentence.

Agree the question should be asked. Just can't see how we'd get the answer we'd need to do it. You're right it would have to be a contender but it would also have to be a first round pick to make it worth our while. We are gonna have picks coming out our kazoo this year and we don't need another in the 20s - 30s. A pick from 10-18 then yes but just can't see anyone giving that up for Lynch giving his recent history.Biggest question would be is he going to be part of our next Premiership team or would be be better off sending him to a contender for a late first or second round pick?

Best we stick with him & let him see his contract out. He helped us win a couple of flags so has some credits. Reality is we’ll be lucky to get more than 10 games from him next year.Don't see the point. Can't see a club giving up much for a 32 year old player who gets injured sneezing these days. Agree. We need him to coach the kids.Best we stick with him & let him see his contract out. He helped us win a couple of flags so has some credits. Reality is we’ll be lucky to get more than 10 games from him next year.
Why?I think the club should open negotiations to pay him out for the last year of his contract and retire him. 8 games in 2 years. Not his fault. The body has let him down, and he was a key part of two Premierships.
What would be the point of that?I think the club should open negotiations to pay him out for the last year of his contract and retire him. 8 games in 2 years. Not his fault. The body has let him down, and he was a key part of two Premierships.
He’s not going to be there after next year. We have to work out a system without him and there’s this whole ‘oh if only Lynch was here’ when he can’t get on the park for more than a handful of games. We have to move on sooner or later, let’s do it sooner. What would be the point of that?
Definitely mate as with our low strike rate with tall forwards an investment for the future is worth it. Knowing our luck he’ll end up having twin boys resembling the frame of Dow or Corey Ellis. We won’t be competing for anything next year so why not. If his body fails again then enough is enough. So do we need to get Lynch to 100 games ala Pickett? Is on 89.
