Lynch !!

Lynch is going nowhere. We'll abide by our deal and hope that he can get a few games in next year otherwise will be around the club to teach the younger brigade. We bought a package deal. Lynch delivered helping us to premierships. There was always a possibility that he wouldn't be delivering much in his final year. That's the price we paid and the risk we took.

No risk.
We got him to win flags.
We are the best performing football club in the last 20yrs thanks to the choice he made.
Let's treat him with the respect he deserves.

It’s often said that things are never as good, or as bad as they seem. Reckon we can play finals next yr if, yes if, Tommy can have a strong uninterrupted pre-season.

He is THAT important.

If he wants to stay he stays. If he wants to go and it benefits us id say do a deal.
If he can get back to fitness and stay fit next year id have him for 2026 as well if he wants it..

The talk is Rioli, Bolton, both want to go if thats the case then letd make the most of it. Being contracted we can be greedy.

Talk is that Graham and Baker want to go as well agian lets make the most of it they are uncontracted and if they want out we ultimately don't have a say.

All this is diffeeent to actually tapping blokes on the shoulder and saying we don't want you any more.
It would be seen as us helping players get to where they want to go not booting them out the door.

This is what any list manager worth his salt would be thinking.
Honest conversations should be happening regardless of past deeds.
Who knows? Tom like others may want to go & win flags again elsewhere.

No way Blair would trade him against his wishes but there should be open communications at years end about where we are at as a club & where he is at as a player.
If it benefited both parties then I could see a trade happening.

The Club needs to do what is right for the Club. Players only concern is themselves.
Yep. It is a balancing act, especially with retirements.
I thought the Heppell retirement was Scott chest -beating.

However, I don't agree with extensions on contracts for players who have shown that they are well past their prime and simply can't keep on the park.

You can’t potentially lose Martin Grimes Baker Graham Rioli Bolton & then Lynch all in the one go.

Have to keep someone & as good as he is when fit at his age doesn’t have the currency of a Bolton etc , need to keep him.

Short will still be there...............I can feel a tsunami coming on.

Bwahaha.. Pies & Demons think they're in the premiership window

Former Gold Coast Sun and dual Richmond premiership player Tom Lynch has been flagged as a potential recruit for two Victorian clubs desperate to add another key tall to their stocks while they remain in the premiership window.

Honestly he is so injury prone and now in the twilight of his career. We would be silly to knock back offers of a first rounder (even giving a second rounder back) if he truly wants to go.

It's going to be tougher than it was with the Suns next year so only Tommy knows whether he wants to ham it up or blow it up.

"Tom Lynch is happy to see out his contract for 2025 at Richmond with the Tigers also aware of his importance in a forward line likely to be bereft of household names next year.

While clubs are asking about Lynch, it would take something extraordinary to see him move to a third club.

Lynch is determined to get back to full fitness and provide a leadership role at the Tigers next year and has shown no inclination to want to move on like many teammates.

The Tigers are aware that Liam Baker and Jack Graham are strong leaders who are likely to move on, so it would be disastrous to allow another leader to move on with Dylan Grimes also retiring.

The forward line this year had one of Dustin Martin and Shai Bolton playing alongside at least one tall like Samson Ryan, Mykelti Lefau or Jacob Koschitzke.

Richmond’s only real decision is whether it wants to stockpile picks in this year’s national draft or spread them out over the next two drafts.

Richmond champion Jack Riewoldt told Fox Footy’s AFL 360 last week he believed the right course of action was to stockpile picks.

“Shai’s obviously come out and said that he’d like a trade, (and) if you’re believing the rumours, Daniel (Rioli) is probably in the same boat. And you read the tea leaves and Jack Graham and Liam Baker haven’t signed yet,” Riewoldt said.

“I think this is the most important decision for the football club to make for the next dynasty and the next challenge at a premiership cup, because they have to look ahead as all clubs are.

“Tasmania are coming into the competition in 2028, so the draft will then be diluted again with another assistant package for a team coming in, but also then everyone’s pick goes out by one.”

“There’s changes to the academies and father-sons which will happen, but this year and next year, if you can stockpile and load up on first-round draft picks – which the players we’re talking about are worth picks that are up the top-end of the draft – is they need to make the most of what they’ve got.”

Deledio, didnt want to go. but we did what was best for the club and against his real wish of wanting to stay.
look how that turned out, no doubt that had a positive impact on our dynasty.
if trading Lynch gives us a pick and is the best result for the club then we gotta do it. and do it now

Trade out Lynch now? I dunno. It's a bit like living in a mad share house and during a wild party someone has the bright idea of pulling down the fence for firewood, then bits of furniture, the front door.
