Won us the game tonight.

Well done Luke!

He played his role but Carlton played Bootsma on him for large periods who is a skinny kid giving away height, size and way out of his depth. When McGuane got proper KPD's against the better teams last season he struggled. If he can get matched up against the HB flankers he goes alright.

You sir are missing the flaming point. He'll be playing on a bum most weeks. JR and TV 1 and 2. Daylight, Lukey Baby. He's never going to get a gun defender playing on him. That is the whole point. Geez.

pfft lucky we did not need a goal to win!
played alright and to his role, but far out

lf we want to play finals, luke, jackson and god forbid newmans needs to be pushed out by our youngsters....only if the deserve it...but we need better bottom 22 players

Indeed, we should get rid of every player that wins a game for us.

Well said
It's all about the overall team balance and he fitted in well tonight.

Re: The positive Luke McGuane thread

If he missed that tackle, they had 40 seconds to get it down the other end, considering the ease they were moving the ball in the last qtr.
Carey Mcguane won us the game

Re: The positive Luke McGuane thread

He tried his guts out tonight at every contest, 100% effort, well done Luke, you hold your spot IMO, and I didn't think I would say that before the game.

Do want to say I felt Ellis looked lazy tonight, seems to think its all too easy maybe?

Could be a chance for another kid to get a spot and blokes that don't give 100% every time, go practice in the 2nds.

Re: The positive Luke McGuane thread

Yeah, deserves his spot at the moment - well done Luke. Has been good all pre-season.

Also agree that Ellis, after a few very promising signs early in the pre-season games, has dropped off. Saw him pull out of a few contests vs the doggies a few weeks ago and again once or twice tonight. Needs to lift and realize it's not all down hill skiing...really rate the kid but some slightly worrying signs from BE.
