Luke McGuane

He played his role but Carlton played Bootsma on him for large periods who is a skinny kid giving away height, size and way out of his depth. When McGuane got proper KPD's against the better teams last season he struggled. If he can get matched up against the HB flankers he goes alright.

McGuane worked hard all night in the forward line. Took a few strong grabs and kicked goals. Created pressure in the forward line with his tackling which is a big plus. He did the job he was meant to do as the 3rd tall tonight. Hope he keeps his good form up.

Backhanded praise from Barnzy. McGuane has made it!

Geez, people are getting bagged as darksiders for not backing McGuane now. This is amazing.

Re: The positive Luke McGuane thread

Yep he was good tonight. Luckily he didn't have to kick the goal at the end of the match to win the game. If he's going to play forward, he has to kick those set shots from 25 mtrs out.
Overall however, he had a solid game tonight.

I saw a fair bit of Bootsma as a junior footballer. Always suprises me he has made an AFL list, but good on him. Great young fella.
