I have this hot water service. Pilot light always goes out, gives tepid water, works for about 5 minutes before conking out .....

....but I use it every day and it'll do until i get a better one.

If the pilot light always goes out then how does it heat the water. Must be a small hot water service something you'll find in a caravan park.

Well you didn't clarify any of that in your post which was a reply to this specific comment which you quoted - "sorry if i misunderstand, but im sure you are saying McGuane and Jackson lead to us being on the bottom of the ladder."

Please read may response again - I was quoting a response from Brodders to a post by SCOOP. Go back and check the original post from SCOOP and hopefully it makes more sense. Scoop never said McGuane & Jackson alone lead us to the bottom of the ladder.

I think Panthera summed it up pretty well. Although IMO we definitley are carrying too many glass half full players (not posters) in the side :)

Are you discounting the possibility that our new coaching staff and game plan will actually improve these glass half full types you think we have too many of ?

Yes. But that's just my opinion. Would love for someone like a White or a King to prove me wrong but I doubt it.

Our bottom 6 in 2-3 years time needs to be from the pool of Moore/Tambling/Edwards/Collins/Vickery/Nason/Nahas/Webberly, not Rance/Polo/White/Hislop/Polak/McGuane/King/Farmer.

Jackson - who knows - may be employed in specific tagging roles but preferrably we've got too many good midfielders for him to get a game

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Quite an amusing thread when you consider that most of our coaching panel were thought to have poor skills and incapable of improvement.

Damien Hardwick, oh yes premiership CHB at two clubs who was always noted for his sublime skills and dominant physical attributes.
Leppitsch, premiership CHB, the same in his early years at Lions showed immaculate judgement and extraordinary football skills.
Lade was a premiership ruckman from his first game of AFL (as a senior draftee?) displaying immaculate skills and athletic abilities rivalling NicNat. ;D

Not to mention Daly who was so skilled that he didn't play AFL. ;)

Maybe, just maybe, our current coaches actually think they can teach these players to become premiership players like themselves.

Quite amusing that you think Hardwick was a CHB. Do you really think becoming a premiership player is "taught"?

In some cases it is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Toby Thurstans, Mark Blake, Ashley Hansen, Dean Wallis, Shane Ellen, Matthew Capuano, Robert Copeland, Nathan Ablett, Andrew Eccles and Aaron Keating all send their regards.

I agree, but you think those 8 guys I named are gunna be as lucky? And add a couple more. Tell me who these guys you named above played with and then compare those to our current list.

Of course you can compare individual players like say McGuane to a Wallis, Hislop to Ellen (maybe), Polo to say Copeland (big maybe) etc. But I don't think the 8 I named are going to improve enough to compliment our universally acknowledged "good" players. I don't think these guys have enough upside.

You and others obviously disagree, hopefully those in the paid positions (who have a lot more info at hand to make more informed decisions than I do) can get it right. And then we can all celebrate together, hopefully me with some egg on the face about some of these guys because they are obviously giving it their best crack.

Don't forget Cam Mooney in the North Melbourne premiership

Donuts!

Point is, how in hell would anyone know in advance who is going to be a Premiership player and who isn't? Guys play in Premierships because they do. Some are average footballers who have a season out of the box, or are just plain lucky to be at the right club at the right time in history. Under the right circumstances, every player on any AFL list could one day play in a Premiership team.

One of the five best players I have ever seen is Bobby Skilton. He played in one final.

I just get annoyed at this constant whine of: " forget Insert name of favourite whipping-boy here. He won't ever be a Premiership player."

I've never seen a working model crystal ball.

Fair post.
Who was better Daryl Freame or Matthew Richardson?

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Absolutely atrocious tonight he has no idea.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

He was very bad.

Like last week showed with a number of guys on our list, when the game comes down to putting your body on the line, we can match it with anyone.

But when skill is required, we are miles behind.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Lots of guts - not a single brain cell

Sorry - but enough is enough,

This guy will never ascend to a decent level,

I think he keeps getting games because we have no better options.

But - enough is enough,

Makes the Kellaway boys look like the absolute legends they were - albeit - SKILLED! (and that is saying something) ;)

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

I didn't think it was possible to have a footballer with a dumber football brain than White. This guy takes the cake by a country mile.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Fisher/Gilbert way ahead of Thursfield/McGuane. This needs to be addressed.
