Takes a better specky for sure but that's not what I said.
I want a guy who's not afraid to play in the traffic and despite some of his other shortcomings Luke's very hard at the ball in a pack situation.
I don't expect you to agree.

He definitely is hard at the ball and opponent, but his main criticism is that he's too messy and doesn't control the ball well.

Tucky has found ways to cover or learn from his errors, however McGun hasn't. My main criticism of him in attack, is that he doesn't find space as any other forward does. We rarely see him lead.

If he learns, TF, he's the way forward. If not it's up to one or more of our pups to pass him. Let em do that.

In the round robin game Tyrone struggled with terrible delivery. Muscles marked one clean off his shins. But Vickery is too tall for that.

Well, last Saturday, Tyrone marked one clean off his shins. And was twice as active.

Maybe it's not about Lace-out's improvement.

Thats not what Oldie said, we all know what can happen when he starts to run and has to make a decision, what Oldie said is he is a top contested mark. Always has been. Bottom line is thats why he is still on the list, he is very good at a very difficult and valuable skill.

Top contested mark?? According to 2012 stats he's not even in the top 100. Chimp has more.

Besides our horrible passes into attack, what's so difficult about simply leading and marking the ball? Miller did it often enough.

Odd, the stats I saw say McGun is 2nd in avg contested marks per game behind only Jack.

Edit: iVan, Post and Batch round out the top 5

That surprises me. He didn't play that many games, but it still surprises me. I've always liked his marking. Its when he starts running and thinking and trying to hit a target it can get a bit hairy.

That sounds more like it to me!

Your references to Post are getting boring. Give it up.

Show me where he is 2nd in average.

I'm not sure how good 'averages per game, per team' actually looks even considering Post is 4th and is gone.

I prefer to judge by the 'total contested marks' where even Chimp is in the Top 100 and McGun isn't.

No wait, you're serious. ???

Besides which these stats are total BS when you take opponents and player positions into account.
Just have to use your eyes to see who creates a contest in a pack situation and who can pluck a mark.
Luke does that better than most on our list IMO.

Anyway contested marks is not what I'm on about.

He just needs to present more by leading and marking (which is mostly uncontested), and kicking goals. So far we still see only Jack and Tyro do it.

Hardly boring, they are going to be the running joke of the season.

How are total contested marks in anyway relevant in a discussion where one player played 22 games and the other 9 ? I'd post more stats but it seems you're already a little jayded.

By that logic, KB would be up there. Better than Allan Edwards.

I thought Grand Angus was the running joke of the season, then again, it looks like your next loverboy in Derrickx might be leading the way sooner than we think.
