Luke McGuane

Said it before & leysy will say it again, quite simple the single luckiest footballer in the country.

Drafted by anyone else would have been in suburban footy years ago having earnt 10% of what he has from the game. Fact.

The coughup of the footy & instant reckless free kick to Ziebell when we were 7 pts up with 3 mins to go was vintage *smile*.

Anyone else handles that situation we win the game.

Hopefully Elton can play some good footy at Coburg early on and take McGuane's spot.

I reckon Lukey should be forever banished from the backline. If he even runs back past the centre, the runner should lasso him and drag him back forward (or to the bench).

There was a 100 things last night that cost us, the ruck, our goal kicking, our kicking inside 50. He at best is "back up".
Can't see him bring in the best 22.
Did you see Morris game last night...horrible
Martin? Grigg? There was a couple last night that didn't run on all cylinders.
Hardwick needs to get the goal kicking right, because we dominate and don't convert it on the score board..

dont know about anyone else jackson and white are in the same category as luke they have been great servants to the club and they give there all to the best of there ability but there best is not up to the standard we have now edwards was in this category to but he's improved but last night with vlaustin and arnott and how ellis and conca are coming on will eventually push these guys down the pecking order

and no disrespect to jackson white and mcguane but will never win a G'F with these guys playing making crucial mistakes at crucial times
and last night proved it

Helps when you're Mick McGuane cousin. Got drafted by Miller purely on name.
Why he's been kept on is beyond me. Might be to remind us how bad we use to be.

I must admit that in the last couple of years, Luke has really shown he is well below standard. A great shame to see a bloke who has busted his butt not make it, but that is the facts of the matter.

Presume this is his last season, and he probably would have been gone by now but for his attitude and lack of obvious replacement.

He does bring a little versatility to the team.

I agree he is irreplaceable

No doubt it's been mentioned numerously but the 3 old chestnuts did make crucial errors at critical times

Correct CC and that Mcguane play with two minutes to go just summed him up and its why we lost so many games when he played back.

An easy clearance with richmond players moving forward in the clear. First Mcguanes skill lets him down in the fumble and then his lack of judgement and ill discipline gives away a goal.

Simple execution of a basic skill and if that failed just a clear head defending would have meant we won.

We cannot play like millionaires when the ball goes into our defensive 50 or our forward 50 but we do. That was still the troubling take out from last night.

I thought exactly the same thing. Clean hands and he takes the ball away, danger averted, but he fumbles, let's a North player in and cannons into his head.

I wanted to cry after McGuane fumbled and then gave away blatant free kick. Also thought White and Jackson were very ordinary. Hoping none of these three players get many games this year.

McGuane will play the same role this season as he did in the last, most of the year at Coburg and will only play if we have significant injuries.

Give him 7 more games before he goes just in case he spawns some decent offspring in the future.
