Luke McGuane

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Tigerdog,
I think your last comment was very average, and downright wrong.
I thought McGaune played really well on Reiwoldt tonight.
Unlike many players from both teams, McGuane puts in 100%.
I('m happy to take this up at the next Club80.
Shers.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

McGuane was crucial in the last seconds and earned us a draw rather than a loss by his positioning and got hte last kick to save the game. HE deserves credit for this. I ahve no problem with his bump. Against the rules but we arent being thrown around like oily rags any more.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

I've never been a big fan. But this guys couldn't catch a break on this site if it was his smoko and lunch hour combined. He was fantastic tonight.

Fact is we don't have any other player on our list currently who could have done a better job on Roo.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Shame he's gone. He's proven beyond doubt that he's our best KPD. Buddy and Roughy next week, we're going to miss Muscles a lot.

Battles hard but no doubt the dumbest footballer on the planet.
Really?Rattled Ray enough for Ray to drop a mark in our foward line which resulted in a goal to us.But hey you can go with the rest of the sheep that think Mcguane can,t do anything right. ::)

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Had Nick covered tonight, and thought he had a good game. Still scary with the ball, but his defensive work is excellent.

Will see him in 4-5 weeks I reckon. Particularly with all these concussion issues currently in the media - the AFL will want to respond harshly.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

I say if a player is there to be hit, then hit him.
The quicker St Kilda slides down the ladder the better.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

I think McGuane is a spud but he did very, very well last night on Nicky. But just to prove that he's not the most intelligent guy around he goes and rubs himself out for the next few weeks.

As previously mentioned still scary when he gets the ball, panics and often handballs to the nearest person without knowing whether they are clear or not.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Ray didn't to his credit wimp off the ground but got up and carried on. So yes he is going to go but shouldn't be for that many. Still I didn't expect Rance to go and he got four.

While on shirtfronts did you see Dawson take out Nahas. Dawson almost looked apologetic that Nahas presented himself so cleanly for it. That is the way its supposed to be done.

All Dawson had to do was stand there. Nahas shirt-fronted himself.

And jacksons on Goddard was good too.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

With 10secs to go and any score by the Saints would win them the match. The ball spills towards the Saints goals 15mtrs out with Saints ready to pounce.Who had the sense to stay behind the play and clear it?Yep he,s pretty Dumb.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Luke had some help from the appalling St Kilda gameplan but he was great last night.

In any sort of even aerial contest he was all over Saint Nick

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Yes he is pretty dumb. Never said he wasn't valuable, and I have stuck up for McGuane a lot, but the simple fact he is a dumb footballer. How you can deny that is laughable.

I was happy with his effort and performance on Riewoldt, but take a close look and see that McGuane lacks the fundamental footy smarts. He is still our best tall defender but boy, does he do some really stupid things.

Also there was no need for that hit on Ray, cost himself and us a few weeks and a goal in a game where we drew. Buddy and Roughy and Hale next week, no surprise our two tall defenders are going to be missing for reasons they could of prevented. No surprise both have a negative trait of not being the smartest footballers.

I knwo you have a deep love for him mate, but if you do not think he is a dumb footballer than you quite simply are not paying attention.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Did an awesome job last night. AFL has just released they got the deliberate point as wrong as well so Lukey well done on a good game.

Selwood owes ya one :hihi

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Love the way the term "dumb footballer" is trotted out by the so called experts.

Surely "dumb footballer" is a codition that can't be fixed because it implies some inherent mental deficiency.

Other players who have been labelled "dumb":

Jackson, White and King - to date, our best players this year.

Makes me womder if this dumb labelling is a case of Dumb and Dumber
