Looked like a shoulder to the head to me. Not sure how you can jump up as high as he did and shoulder someone in the chest. He's gone for sure.
he jumped but was also leaning forward. It was front on contact. It was no doubt reckless but I believe that had he hit ray in the head, it would have been his face and no way he would have got up from it.

Pretty much cost us the Hawthorn game last year through bad decisions in the last quarter. He's just not decisive, which means he'll often come unstuck. Case in point: the rushed behind incident. That it was wrong is immaterial. Superb pickup off the ground but he had no idea what he was going to do with it once he had it. Saints player closed the gap and the rest is history. I'll never question his effort or desire though. Good fightback after Riewoldt was dominant for the first ~45 minutes.

We should expect the MRP to cite the St.Kilda medical report in its finding, as they did with Waite.

I was thinking that too. Seems a lot is given to damage caused these days and Ray took his kick.

Smashed? Didn't Reiwoldt get 3 and miss 2 straight-forward shots? Didn't McGuane concede 5 free kicks?

2 of those goals were absolute gifts though. apart from the first quarter and a bit did a pretty solid job

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Watched the replay again. Don't know what message Beavis gave Luke, or whether someone ran over his cat, but that was the most physical I have ever seen him. Didn't miss a chance it hip and shoulder anyone.

With such a young team we need a couple of payers like that to look out for the kid.

And yeah, I reckon he beat Jack's cousin on the night.

They used that line of thinking when giving Cotchin 4 weeks. That approach would make more sense than e.g. giving Jackson 3 weeks for something that, while unsavoury, did no damage whatsoever. Would've also seen Judd miss the Brownlow last year. The principle of "insufficient force" is applied far too inconsistently.

Even though I'm really happy that Muscles laid down a little law to Bulimia Ray I'm disappointed that the bag of bones got up.

I think it is a very good development that Richmond, notoriously a terrified heap of *smile*, now has players who get rubbed out for wickedness, but no point being hanged for a sheep.

Muscles got no value for an evil act. Just a bit of a bump. He can learn a lot from Rancid. Let's hope he does. He'll get two for not hurting anybody.

Here's the rule for the future Lace Out - if a Richmond player hits somebody they don't get up. It only costs an extra week at the tribunal to get a reputation the club can be proud of.

Dimma's working hard on the boys to establish that core dash of unsociable that all good teams need.
Nothing wrong with putting your stamp on the contest instead of having an opponent put his stamp on you.
Would like nothing more by seasons end than for other teams to know they are going to get an absolute red hot contest in all aspects every time they front the Tiges.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

muscles !!!! still our best KPD. Good to see we are starting to hurt the opposition - if it takes a few suspensions so be it.

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Big trouble next week, 3 tall forwards in Roughhead, Franklin and Hale

Re: Luke McGuane = Guts

Hale looks like a good pick up for the Hawkers. Her was possibly the best of the 3 tall forwards in Shepparton a few weeks ago...then again I don't think he had to wear Rance on the night.

I'm loving Lukes' aggression on-field, I want other clubs seeing us as a tough team to the point where they're hearing footsteps!

That's fine but what's the point if half our team is suspended. Luke was silly to jump up off the ground, it's a guaranteed suspension if you then lay someone out.

Indeed he is.

I was pretty disappointed in Astbury's game the other night and I'm a fan. Surprised how slow he looked.
Maybe it's the extra muscle??

Astbury seems to have lost the sticky fingers he looked to have. Still very early days for him obviously.

I would like a bit more focussed aggression, I don't see any point in targeting Farren Ray. If that had been Stephen Milne however..

Rance on Waite and Dan's bump on Hayden Ballantyne last year were much better acts of aggression, they were in retaliation for past deeds and didn't give up a shot on goal.

Second year blues. I'm surprised people are still surprised by it.
