Luke McGuane

No, he left because he wanted to return back to brisbane, where he is from. In fact he rejected two contracts RFC put to him this year.
Sadly the stats don't come close to supporting this assertion of yours
Oh, is that another piece of fiction dressed as fact ?
Fair enough, you do seem more content to play with yourself.

Ha ha, fair enough. Agree to disagree.

Luckiest footballer. Absolutely.

Depends on what you mean by Lucky.

I would argue Cotchy is luckier. Born with more talent. Luke tried his guts out, just had trashbag skills. Can't fault Luke for the effort he put in, he's just unlucky he's awkwardly horrible at reading the play/hitting a target/setting up play/not giving away free kicks.

Luke made a hundred games out of a very average football IQ, I'd say that's due more to determination than luck.

As for his kicking for goal... He's structurally fine provided he's not running unopposed into the goalpost. Or trying to snap from 12 metres out.

Agree, he’s go back to Coburg after being dropped for a more talented but less effective player (e.g. Post) and he wouldn’t pout, he would flog his guts out. If Ben Griffith’s had Luke attitude we would have an All Australian on our hands.

Absolutely! Joel Selwood is a lucky footballer for being drafted to Geelong when he was. Nathan Jones is an unlucky footballer for being drafted by Melbourne when he was.
Swap teams for their careers & the public perception of both would be a lot different.

And no I am not saying Jones is as good or better than Selwood!

and we have more re-writing of history before the whipping boy has even left the state

Yeah losing Royce Hart is a tragedy.

The dumbest footballer I've seen. Brave no doubt. Did extremely well to eek out 100 games.

Did you cut and paste that from your posts in the Jacko thread ? For a long time you said he was the dumbest footballer ever.

Yep agreee. His decision making may have terrible but Luke also had a lot of admirable qualities.

He was brave and hard working and the sort of guy that is good to have a footy club. Unfortunately the club needs more from its tall forwards than Luke can provide, no shame in that.

He has had a crack.

And that relates how? But well done on diverting the topic. Sigh. And Jackson himself has said numerous times he had to improve on the exact areas that I harped on about it. And he did. And I stopped harping. Is a walkup starter and deserves his spot. McGuane still made the same mistakes. Year after year after year. And I don't exactly see clubs lining up to grab the almighty McGuane.

Quite simply it shows your "worst footballer I've ever seen" tag is reuasable when it suits and has shown to be way off the mark.

Or should we, like the AFL tribunal, not be allowed to bring in priors as precedence ?

Sometimes you just need to be man enough to admit you got it wrong. It's not that hard.

No Baloo, it just shows your a fanboy. Yellow and Black do no wrong.

McGun isn't up to it, never was. Jackson had flaws corrected them, going beautifully.

Wrong again. Come on mate, it's not hard to admit it.

But gees mate, you've got to be in serious trouble if you need to resort to fanboy slurs during the off season. You're better than that.

Pretty funny considering the accusations of personal attack if anyone questions a certain posters opinion. :hihi

To revive that famous quote by SCOOP..... :hihi

True. McGone could never get to the next level as Jacko has.

Must've read too much PRE.

Good to hear. I was genuinely concerned for him for a while there. Good luck Lukey
