Luke McGuane

Luke's debut was against O'loughlin if I remember right. Got toweled.
It was Barry Hall.

I vividly remember him kicking a lace out pass in the centre. Completely deceived.

My memory tells me it was O'Loughlin - down my end at Docklands.
And McGuane was even skinnier then and was immediately getting shoved aside by O'Loughlin who kicked a couple of quick goals.

Yes Tiger Flag.......Barry Hall sounds right. It was at Telstra Dome and the poor old Tiges received a flogging. There were not many supporters left at the end of the game.

I felt sick for Luke and his mates........totally overwhelmed.

We had a few games like that, but now it's just a sad blur in my memory.

Really beginning to like this free trade business. Fringe players at the Tigers are moving on, forces us to find better replacements instead of keeping them on for too long. Let's face it, overall, for McGuane's output and abilities we held on to him for far too long. Have a little bit more time for Whitey but a similar scenario.

We certainly got taken to the cleaners by the Swans in that game, but the following week V Adelaide at the same venue, perhaps Wallace's finest coaching effort.
Bowden brothers playing keepins off V the crows and we got up by a point or two.

So long as they are better replacements then that's fine but we got rid of Schulz and replaced him with Miller remember... ::)
Whilst I don't see Luke possessing near the overall natural footballing talent of Sarge, I still think he could have a some impact if presented with the opportunity up forward. On occasions he showed real ability there in 13.
Brisbane is a good fit for him. Aerially especially he will keep defenders very honest.
Watch this space I guess.

I guess the difference is that we are not getting rid of Luke , he has decided to leave.

agree, Benny, Dimma and Hartley are all over FT like a rash. The nature of the business means we can't control all aspects, or even most aspects, its about moving in the right direction and being on the front foot, not overvalueing players, vigilance, good management basically, which we are now doing.

On Luke, I've never subscribed to 'totally hopeless' theory, well maybe a couple of times. Always liked him as a depth player, but lets face it, you can't sook about losing a depth player. At times this year, even though I thought generally he did well in his role, he took hopelessly wrong options when the obvious right option was staring him in the face. Its a roll of the dice when he has to make a decision. Thanks for the highlights this year though Lukey.

Benny was very instrumental in the setting up the legalities of FA when he was president of the AFLPA. He would have a strong say in how it's handled at the club I would suggest.

Good servant - anyone who makes the 100 AFL games has had a good career. Maybe the sunshine will give him added zest. Good luck Luke.

How keen is Brisbane on McGuane? They might be holding off for something better, which would make Luke look like a dill.

He wouldn't leave unless he knew he had a spot.

Doubt Lukey would of declared his hand without a prior agreement from the new Lions coach.
