Luke McGuane

Most important player today, if he gets early goals, it will put massive pressure on there defence.
Vickery Needs to pluck some today also.
Big game can't wait

Agree, Luke needs to hit the scoreboard early to assure accountability from a collingwood defence that love to peel off.

I don't think accountability for his opponent is a problem for Lukey. In fact, getting him on one of Collingwood's defenders who like to peel off given McGuane's pressure should be an aim. If he can pinch those 2-3 goals again it will be a massive bonus.

Still managed 2 goals but definitely found it tougher against the Pies defence as did all our forwards. They're a well drilled unit the Pies.

Still it was the inability of our mids to hit the scoreboard at all today which was a far bigger problem than our tall forwards.

Probably would play better under a better forward coach. He and Tyro just don't present themselves enough.

kicked his 2, earnt his dough, but i didnt get to sing any jerry-lee numbers. I did call a collingwood supporter a filthy *smile* *smile* mongrel when I was gracious and said simply 'too good" in the last quarter and he started giving me a lecture about our 'false prophet' Cotchin

McGuane presents a lot more than Vickery. Hit the leads at full tilt too where as TV slows down as he's about to mark it allowing the defender to pick him off.

Worked hard on Heafy. Not a bad game. Presented honestly but looked a bit out of his depth.

Second week in a row that Muscles has cracked the *smile*. Didn't get pinged but probably should have.

2.1 was ok but the miss was again unforgivable. Two seconds looking at the goal is enough to guarantee it.

Yes they seemed to run it from our f50 at will. Need to be better. We were down across the field today. We will learn and move on.

Got exposed. Heath Shaw ran of him at will in the first half.

Applied zero pressure. Brings his man to the contest, has no idea about creating space.

Got a couple of cheapies, offered nothing as a hit up target, got ran off at will.

Jury still out against good teams.

Mind to be fair plenty of others are in that boat with Luke.

I believe Shaw only had 7 possessions in the first half. Only 15 for the whole game. Thought he was fairly average actually. But yeah McGuane managed a couple of cheap goals but didn't really offer as much as previous weeks.

Given the ball spent most of the time in the back half during the quarter where we lost the game, and the fact that we don't want McGuane going down there, I'm not sure what more we want from him here.

a couple of cheapies? one of his goals he outmarked to pies in the goal square. not sure how that is a 'cheapie'. he also gave off a goal assist to King.
a direct hand in 3 of our 11 goals is a pretty good effort i would have thought.

That really was a cheapie. There is no way in the world he should have been allowed near that ball but they weren't counting on Reiwoldt shanking it. Not taking away credit from McGuane, he took advantage of the loose defense and made them pay. Eddie would have been furious.

exactly. Shaw was ineffectual. Luke spent plenty time way up the ground and laid some good tackles. worked hard, earnt his dough.

Amazing, we lose a game and the usual suspects come flying in pointing out the flaws in our squad players.

Held shaw well enough when you consider the gulf in class between them and was focused enough to make 3 pies defenders look silly.

Wasn't one of our best but he certainly didnt lower his colors.
