Liam McBean

This will be another Justin Plapp scenario, but in Plapps defence, he at least dominated the VFL.

Nothing wrong with Mcbeans form in the VFL over the past few years.

He has his weaknesses but a few on here are writing him off a bit early IMO.

Course they are, those saying he has run out of chances don't know *smile* from clay.

It's a totally different game now. Forwards don't kick the big bags as often as they used to.
Full forwards are not full forwards. Plappy just played full forward on the 2's..

13 posts about George being dropped. 7 pages about Liam being dropped. Way out of whack imo.

probably cause beany was dropped after an arbitary 3 game allocation and replaced by a bloke who is considered to have his papers stamped?

another reason for the disparity Id suggest is our tall stocks seem critically low.

He did kick one goal in 12 quarters though so not far off. One goal in what, about 17 quarters, if you count last year's efforts.

Jon Brown took 24 quarters to kick his first goal.

he kicked 5 in his first 13 games.

The PRE brains trust wouldnt have stood for Jon Brown :headscratch

Mcbean is simply not up to league level - blind Freddie can see that.

cause, yeah, big blokes always dominate and pull down monster pack marks and kick bag in their first few games.

Blind Freddie would have let a few good ones go. Almost all of them as a matter of fact. literally.

Not aimed at anyone, but PRE's critical analysis of footy is at an all time low IMO.

yeah, and all the rest of our list are flint hard?

Let's see if he gets picked by another club at seasons end and dominates with them.I doubt it.

Fair cop McBean haters! Yes a few on here have pumped him up beyond belief but both Richo and jack have also heaped praise on him in the media without prompting over the last couple of years. Bipolar group of supporters us Richmond people. Though of course the common consensus is...blame the coach!

The execution of Beany is extraordinary.

I picked 3 great CHF's and 1 who got lucky in a great side and looked at their 5 game averages. I picked them without knowing their numbers. No selecting stats to prove my point.

Dermie, Jon Brown, Buddy and Mooney

Dermie 4M 12D 2G
JB 2M 5D 0G
Moons 1M 4D 0G
Buddy 3M 10D 1G

theirs 14 flags at CHF between those blokes. probably only Derm would have passed PRE's expectations.

Beanie 2M 5D 0G. SO Bean outstats Jon Brown and Moons (5 flags, CHF's) on the 5 game averages.

Of course, 5 game averages are entirely absurd. Which is my point.

blah blah blah.

Vickery actually did kick 36 goals as a 21 yr old. String Bean please. Point was with Bean not up to the level and Griff out Vickery had to come back in. Simple really.

Yep and 5 seasons on he's performing worse than he did as a 21yo. Vickery doesn't deserve any more chances. He's shown time and time again his mental fragility to compete at AFL level and follow team rules.

can someone explain why fellas who make sweeping, inaccurate, ill-informed statements, often put a full stop followed by 'simple really', or 'blind freddy could see that' or 'full stop' (the ultimate tautology?)

Is it to try draw the reader away from the ill-logic? Its a complex one. Not black or white. But sits somewhere on the spectrum of grey. comma
