Personally I hope he plays again for at least the next couple of weeks.
He does some good things but footballers don't perform at their best with the axe hovering over their neck.
Liam kicks those goals last week and he's had a solid game. He's usually a good set shot so it's gotta be nerves.
Needs a bit of confidence.
Stick with him. Not much to lose by doing so.

top post.

and yes, his has a single malt kicking action. lovely shot when relaxed.

I don't understand why so many are hoping for his demise.

Yes, it's odd.

I haven't been a fan of the over inflated opinions of his capabilities on this site, but he turns 22 next month. Got time on his side yet for a tall.

He ain't the mustard I'm afraid.

Soft and lazy!

Yes, When you look very closely he doesn't really like body contact, try's to avoid it

But he's definitely not Robinson Crusoe

Agree that he should be played to years end. And more stints on ball. Maybe he'll be a ruck who can go forward in time. Still a baby in rucking terms.

Brother. All he has to do is kick the *smile*en goal. It's such a simple game. He missed two sodas. Aaaaaarrgh!

Damn straight. He's got some mates. Not like our Coleman medalist doesn't have the yips a bit too atm. Griff also.
Not bloody good enough. One thing about Ty until recently he was a very good set shot.
As we've said before Jack, ya gotta finish the work or you're a dud. Kick the goal.

I do. It is because a lot of the normal darksiders want him to be given a go so the natural brightsiders can't bring themselves to agree with those darksiders thus they have turned against Liam.

Not true. Brightsiders are hoping he gets a shot and comes good. Brightsiders are bright no matter what the topic is.

Yes. But if he does fail it's massive egg on face for the aforementioned darksiders who said Beano would be a SUPERSTAR so it's a win-win deal for us brightsiders

Correction ant. Not "would be" but "IS" with a capitol is. Who could forget Lamby's call that we would have won the final if Liam had been selected in the team. Premature expectation or what?

Neither do I. Given how the season has progressed (or regressed, depending on your view), he should be given the rest of the year in the seniors. He's shown glimpses among the mire that is our forward press

he is being given a go because we are not going all out to win. in previous years we were playing in finals. this year we are not.

i also dont think giving him more games would lead to much higher output now. he needs size and strength.
assuming his effort off the field is ok i expect him to be at punt road again in 2017, regardless of how he performs over the next few weeks.

I'm not sure giving him more games would have led to higher output either but at least we would have a better idea of his potential to make it. You do make a good point, we were going all out to win but even this year when it was clear very early on that we were stuffed, Hardwick and co persisted with Vickery. I personally don't think McBean will be with us next year, particularly not if he isn't played for the rest of the season.

The deity hype has been ridiculous and placed unreasonable expectations on him. In isolation his performances in this handful of games are no better or worse than the likes of Griffiths or Vickery at the same age. Those guys have played 50-100 games now and are still yet to establish themselves. Liam needs more exposure at the level so we can get a better idea of what he might do. Will an under pressure football dept. allow that? Unlikely.

yep, couldn't agree more.

having high expectations of a player is a terrible thing :hihi

this is the problem, ToO.

I've been pushing for his promotion at the expense of Vickery for over two years now. he could've had 40 games under his belt and kicking bags at AFL level.

not under old handbrake eh?

I've been pushing for this too hoping he'd push TV out the door..... After the weekend though he is no better and I now don't see the potential for Bean to be a top line forward in the AFL.

I'm now at peace that Bean can move on, he doesn't have a set of hands to flunk marks, little agility which I thought would have been his Ace, and although little sample size his goal kicking is poo.

In hindsight he would have had more currency winning the VFL goal kicking and placing up for trade. Maybe Dimma was right on this one smh.

He's kicked a bag of 1 goal from 5 starts so far, even though you said he'd kick five goals against Essendon.

Of course McBean's failure to live up to your expectations can be put down to Hardwick, it's the easy option.
