I just think they'll drop him and that will be it, reckon Vickery will come back in. I'd keep playin him and keep TV in the VFL, his allready gone and other then injury his values not going to change.
Fatten Vickery up for a trade..

Agree they'll bring Vickery back in- if only just to increase his trade value. Well I hope that's their reasoning anyway.

If I were Dan Richardson- I'd sign McBean up for another 2 years, and play him a heap more next year.

I am sorry but I must be watching a different player, I just don't see him making it because of his physical limitations. I reckon he is a small man in a tall skinny man's body. He wont be a key position player and wont be a small.

More marks and disposals per game than Vickery and Griffiths at the same age.

Problem is that people are comparing McBean to players much further into their development.

Problem is that certain folk on here expected him to come in and dominate from day 1. That astute football aficionado the Baron himself predicted a five goal haul for the Bean only last week. And this in the full knowledge of Dimma's awful game plan.

I'm not sure what people are expecting of a 5 game, 202cm forward.

He's finding his way and getting more involved each week.

Without the 'McJesus' hype, we'd be saying he was tracking ok for a young forward.

Needs to take his opportunities no doubt, but given we kicked 5.14, I'd say he is not on his lonesome there.

Good post Draga. Just a young forward making his way after a handful of games.

Just read the VFL Twitter feed. Vickery two ice goals in the last to get them over the line. Meanwhile Hardwick gives it to McBean for not kicking his goals.

I expect to see Vickery in McBean out next week. It is a comedy show down there.

Yep, Vickery is a match winner.

At the same age TV had already had a 36goal season. In the AFL. Unfortunately that was his best year.

I like Mcbean and think he has a future but the last few weeks has shown why he hasn't been picked much. He just isn't strong enough. A few on here raved on about how he would star when matched up on 3rd talls. He had a mix of Stratton (maybe 190cm?) and Brand, same age and experience as McB and he couldn't out mark them.
He is getting plenty of praise for doing very little at the moment.
Having said that he should keep playing, keep eating and hopefully we will see a bigger broader bean next year not the stringy green.bean we have at present.

Agree with all that, his kicking technique looks sound to me, so hopefully the goals he missed were just nerves.
I will be happy next week if he takes a couple of big clunks. That's what he needs to be able to do.

How many games had Vickery played at the same age?

Correcto!

Thought he was ok really.

I reckon he positions himself in general play better than TV and Griff. A more natural footballer brain and I thought his hands were ok too.

If he can't mark, he still contests and tries to get it to ground to advantage - pity we don't have crumbing smalls. Would do well with North's game plan were they have their small fleet bursting at those contests.

To continue the TV / McB comparison, TV doesn't contest often enough in packs and will typically go for an easy chest mark. At least McB gets his hands above his head and makes it hard for defenders to take the clean stopping mark. McB also more agile and more importantly, more desperate defensively than TV who is slack in that regard. The one thing TV has over him at AFL level (at the moment at least) is TV is usually a very reliable kick for goal. But it was pretty blustery yesterday. The Dawks were 3.15 at one point, so it wasn't just us.

I'd keep in him for the rest of the season to get as many games in him as possible.

You're making me hungry, fresh broad beans are my favourite.

Keep playing him. I really would have loved him to take one of those pack marks he had a go at yesterday, not condemning him because he didn't, but would have loved it.

What bothered me was how easily he was pushed aside in contests. I don't think he'll ever really put on a lot of muscle. He's been in the system for 4 years now.
