Liam McBean

needs to hit scoreboard like LLOYD does.

his game today was OK at times.

As ordinary as Vickery has been this year - he does score - has kicked 23 goals.

Lennon should be in before McBean

Even though currently I still see the likes of Lennon and Lloyd as the Bean's competition, the big difference between Ty and Liam as talls was that Liam remains involved in the game once the ball hits the ground.
Some say he had no intensity. I didn't see that, I saw a young tall trying hard to have an impact on the contest but not making a huge difference. Still something is better than nothing.
I don't disagree entirely but on a couple of occasions when Liam should have run to take on an opponent he either couldn't be bothered or couldn't run and an opportunity was lost. Maybe its the game plan and he is trying to carry out Dimma's instructions but it is not helping his career

Leave the kid alone ? Jack gave him the forward line today sorry mate but watched the game his not what you build a premiership side no shoemaker . There is a reason whyDimma has never selected him guess we will see next week

Out if interest were you at the G or did you watch it on a 100 inch LED tv in the UK?

Only caught up with the last page of this thread, but was at the G to watch Beanie today.

First Dimmer is doing him no favours, extended periods on the bench including the first 8 minutes of most quarters and the first ten minutes of the last. Also played decoy forward when Dusty went deep.

Also game plan is atrocious but all players have to deal with that.

That being said a fair game second up. 12 possessions and 6 marks in 65% game time, some nice gives taps and good positioning which helped open up the forward line.

Still half a step off the pace of the game but better than last week.

Went to see Jack and Beanie snag a few today and we came out with the win with zero goals from those two. Good result although must say the standard of ball use today by both sides was pretty poor.

first time you have seen him play live ?

His running out of time how will he go next week 1 goal in 4 games just won't cut it but might cut him from the list . All those years on a afl list don't think he ever did much weight verk wants his strength and way dos have many tricks

Unfortunately Liam does not like the weight room. Bit of a running joke amongst other players but it's the extra work a player does around the club that defines their career. Some get running coaches during the off season, some do boxing sessions outside the club to extract every opportunity to improve. Don't think the Bean is desperate enough. Nice kid from St Bernard's but obviously wasn't interfered with enough by the brothers. Doesn't play angry

He looks REALLY out of place. Does not belong at this level
Few players do after 4 games- in fact most get to go back to the seconds. I think circumstances give him another game yet, but if not it isn't the end of the road. Check out Tim O'Brien's career form? the reigning premiers as an example

I think most people watching are hoping for just one "wow" moment. We had them from Costanza and Lego. Just want to see something that will make you sit up in your seat and think "the boys got it".

That happened in game one Baloo.

He has intensity and effort its just not in the areas you want from a tall. I am not sure he is up to it but if he is not then it makes even less sense why he has languished in the 2's for four years. If the coaches didn't think he was up to it move him on and we are 12 months into the next guy, if he was up to it why wait a month of TV not getting a kick to give him a crack. Even give him a crack last year, its pretty obvious he is better small forward than Morris was. :)

Thought he presented well, particularly on the wing when we were coming out of defence. Gets absolutely no game time as mentioned previously.

It's as if Dimma is only playing him because he has to, not because he wants to, and is played accordingly.

Did well in the ruck last week for a few stints, didn't see him in the ruck at all today?

Couple of nice taps, handballs. We look better with him on the ground.

If one was cynical it might appear he was being set up to fail.

Less game time than all bar Lids who played only a half.

Really, just play the kid from the start and let him get into the game. Didn't start any quarter until 8 - 10 minutes in.

What was his role/position? On the tv he always seemed to be up the ground.

Would not be surprised with Dimma.

Castagna played great in the middle last week. So what does dimma do? Takes him out of the middle this week.
