An astute judge of key forwards ;)

I don't think he is a key forward Billy. Not yet anyway..

He got a hitout I cant remember if it was to advantage.

He's shown a bit of potential also at VFL level as well. Looks to have a clue but still raw.

I'm just looking forward to Baron and Lamby hyper-analysing Liam's 6 possessions over the next week. :hihi

Will undoubtedly be the greatest ever 6 possession game in AFL/VFL history. I'm sure the Baron is working on some way of blaming Hardwick for Beanies failure to fire.

An almost game, looked to get lost in the pace a little. Etihad against the dogs is about as fast as it gets. Will adapt and get better.

Should've had two and unselfishly let a third goal through.

Wasn't his best but got that first goal out of the way.

Dimmer just needs to keep playing him.

The head coach hasn't really helped his cause. Or do you disagree with that Broders?

Good player makes it impossible for the coach to leave him out of the side, Baron.

Happy enough for the Beanie to get a few weeks in a row, yes he did one or two nice things but surrounded them with a hell of a lot of nothing.
Hot contest on a fast deck with a fair bit of nervous pressure so not really surprising he had little impact. Next week against Essendrugs at the G gives him the perfect opportunity to open up n play a game. Lets hope our boys bring the same effort n intensity to the game against the Bombers as they did yesterday so that Beanie gets a proper chance to step his game up a bit.

The time has come to stop blaming everybody else for McBean's performances. He is in the AFL team and it's up to him now.

Everything else is irrelevant noise.

Th expectations from some are laughable. Not sure too many tall forwards have ripped it up in their 3rd game. Bulldogs are a strong outfit. Give him the season and watch for improvement. It's not easy to just step into the fray at AFL level without any real prior experience, particularly as a tall forward.

One would hope he gets the same opportunity as some others, no?

Rest of the season.

Hardwick nominating the next two games is *smile*. How many games was the rainbow pony allowed to prance around in?

Yep. McBean was quiet last night, no one is disputing that. Its all about opportunity now.

Getting desperate when you are giving Liam credit for watching Brandon's goal sail through the big sticks.

Re: McBean closest to the pin

The bloke's played his 3rd AFL game, with the last one been over a season ago, and already he's been criticised as a failure. It's obvious he'd have the nerves. Let him settle in people.

Yep. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the remaining weeks. Unfortunately, Vickery is Beano's benchmark and vice versa.

People saying that he only offered a bit more than Vickery was. Vickery has played 120 AFL games as opposed to McBean's 3. Willing to give him time to adjust before casting judgement.

I swear one of his detractors on here was sitting near me last night, every time McBean was in the vicinity of the footy he was constantly shouting out abuse about him. Very odd when regarding a young tall in his 3rd game!

Watched him closely last night.

It was very interesting watching the constant communication and the F50 movement with he and Jack. IMO, the fact Jack was
left one out quite often, they worked well together. What/who failed was whoever was on Wood. Or, if he was the loose/spare
in defence, then the coaching box bombed again. Not the first time the 'loose' man in the other team was their teams best player.

The Beavis public comment regarding 2 more games was for McJesus's ears. Letting him know that he's got a chance to regroup and show us what he can do.

I think it was Leigh Matthews that said anything a coach says to the media about a player or players is a direct message to those players, not necessarily to the wider audience.

You are letting your obvious bias take over here Carter.

It was actually a statement that he could stand in the goal square like a statue for 2 weeks and still get picked but after that he has to earn his place. Pretty good deal for him imo.

The real interest is not in what Hardwick said, it's whether McBean can stand up and grab the chance

It's a small step forward. He'd have been dropped in the past for a game like last night.

He does look to have more clues than Vickery. He keeps moving after the initial contest to try and assist with ground ball recovery which Vickery appears very unwilling to do most of the time.
