There are a few posters with selective memories.

Last year when Vickery was dropped did he stand up and demand a spot in the seniors?

No his performances were lacklustre and Hardwick blinked and gave him his spot back.

So why is there a different standard for McBean.

By the way was his performance yesterday so bad given he played a bit of time in the ruck?

And was it any worse than Vickery last year?

I watched a bit. He led and worked a lot but was ignored a lot. Went too early on occasions - his brain is a step ahead of the stop and prop gameplan. Needs tonwait for the prop and stop and sideways before presenting at te ball.

Funny that there has been feedback he need to push up at the ball. Was a waste of time when he did it yesterday.

However, on one occasion it was kicked well to him and he dropped it under some physical pressure which was disappointing.

Most of the play was in Richmonds crowded forward line so it wasn't an easy game to get into. He actually seemed to spend a fair bit of time playing as a flanker - starvation corner?

I would not sack him on that game.

Chol was very impressive as loose man down back. Reads it real well and kicks it well. Is very competitive too. He goes good..

Still has kicked 20 for the year.

Above or equal to the likes of Ben Brown, Shane Kersten, Drew Petrie, Joe Daniher etc etc etc

Im not picking a fight here, just saying that his output over the year has been reasonable
Odious comparison. Watched the Bomber demolition Friday. Daniher never stopped trying and competing. Plasma may well have left the ground at half time because there were no soft goals. Using the 2 Norf players if Plasma was at Norf Scott would probably have sent him off to the Melbourne Vixens to get a heart.

Actually, he did.

Tyrone might be stinking it up in the seniors but don't make stuff up about his VFL performances last year.

Are they big numbers? Weren't Franga and Nth Ball the absolute cellar dwellars as well?

I didn't see the games so wouldn't have a clue but those numbers don't excite me. Must be reading them wrong.

Yeah fair to say he didnt stink it up, but not in the best in any of those games either.
McBean's results were similar but got in best one of the games.

Then again Chol didnt get in best yesterday which surprised me

Probably should get a game at the expense of TV after the bye, but if he leaves I'm not particularly worried about him winding up somewhere else and hurting us. Does the name Matt McDonough ring any bells? Was never really given a proper go in the opinion of people here, was delisted at the end of the season and despite some chicken littling about us regretting it, every other club passed him by when they had the opportunity to pick him up. Liam may simply be a very good VFL player.

A haul of ten goals every three games would have got him the Frosty Miller medal if he'd played in the VFL all year ;-)

I've got no problem with people calling out Vickery's stinkieness right now, but let's not rewrite history.

From what I can make out Antman he didn't break the 10 possession barrier for those three games and averaged just over 4 marks (his goal average was 3.3 and laid 1.7 tackles per game)

Pretty average stats for a senior AFL player and not one that demands a senior selection.

Exactly what did I make up Ants?

Ten goals from 3 games from a forward isn't a good return yandb? Beanie does that and he's kicking the door down right?

Posts on Vickery's performances Antsie.

Carter April 18 2015 "VICKERY - Took a couple of nice grabs early and showed leadership in the forward line but just doesn't lead by example. Not enough intensity. Will not take the game on and put himself on the line. Extremely disappointing. Quite venomous with team mates if they do the wrong thing. Doesn't look very popular"

D85 TV: Played exactly how he does at AFL. Frustrating to watch

Carter April 25 2015 Vickery worked his way into side against Geelong. Finished with four.

Ryan May 9 2015 Vickery looked good and encouraging other guys around him all game.

Comments on McBean same games

McBean: seems to be played in a different position every week, surely thats killing his game. Some weeks he has been ruck, other times the first choice full forward, today he was a half forward. One thing I have noticed (seen a few of the scratch matches) is that he seems to be working harder, but for less reward. Rarely gets hit up on the leads. (1 goal)

McBean classy and dangerous. 3.3 probably should have at least four (3 goals)

McBean looked lively up forward and kicked 5 - a very straight kick (5 goals)

Vickery 10 goals in three games McBean 9 goals in same games Who is making stuff up Antsie.

Spending this much time on PRE today has reminded me of the absurdity of arguing about football and the futility of life in general. I'm off to walk the dog in the park, at least he'll enjoy it.

Yeah and stop bagging the coach.
