Some obviously base it on the bias and double standard reports on the club website.

Do you watch him play each week Harry? Are the coaches reports inaccurate? What would be the point in that when so many people read them after seeing games? Do the PREndefrs who give updates from being live at games have a conspiracy theory against him when they don't think he's been that good overall this year?

The reports are false when they say morris was amazing and griffiths took the best contested mark in the history of the universe, and then surprise surprise they get picked. There is an agenda lead by hardwick and his yes men which makes one question these reports

You were asked here

I am not arguing with anyone. Most of the reports I've read from those at the games this year (taz, ryan, ToO etc) tend to support the impression I get. )

Well if your impression is that Liam does not have excellent decision making skills or ball use skills you have been seriously misled. Ryan and Toos reports are usually pretty good. I don't think either will say Beanie is not a smart and good user.

Probably seen Beanie play 30 - 40 games last 3 and a bit years Rosy. Only once this year.

With the bold text, do you have any idea what is being asked of Liam? I reckon this would be really interesting to know and it, if made clear, would quickly cease comment from one side of the 'play Liam' debate.

Ok K3. I have said I've based my opinions on reports (coaches and PREnders) and stats. I think it's reasonable to assume the things I've highlighted are things they'd like Liam to be more consistent with.

Get to more contests. Have an impact. Get his own ball. Lift work rate. Give 4 quarter performances. Work harder at the contest. Work with other forwards. Lead instead of play behind.

Are they unreasonable? What does the following do to the "play Liam debate"? To me the PREnder quotes pretty much support what the coach says. Do you and Harry and Lamby, who probably don't see as many games, think they are wrong?

I'm sure we'd all love Liam to make it. No player bashing. No conspiracies. No putting him up on a pedestal either. ;)

Round 1
VFL Coach-

Two goals, five disposals, three contested possessions
He’s struggling a little bit with his form, we’re really asking him to get to more contests. He started the game on fire, with two goals against the breeze which really set us up for the day, but struggled to have an impact for the rest of the day.

PRE comments-

Doesn’t chase hard when ball not in his hands (ryan)

Didn’t put his hand op for senior selection (taztiger)

Round 2

Coach-
Liam McBean
Five goals, 17 disposals, eight marks, two contested marks

Liam’s best game this season and we’re really pleased that he’s coming at the ball instead of waiting for the ball to come to him. His work-rate really increased this week.

PRE
McJesus very few touches but ended up with 5 Goals (1 contested mark) (taztiger)

Round 3

Coach
Liam McBean
15 disposals, four contested marks, ten contested possessions, one goal

Liam started the game really strongly. He was a main reason why we were four or five goals up at half time. He had four contested marks; all of them inside 50, which is a good sign for him. Ten contested possessions is also a reflection of him coming at the football. He died off in the second half which was a little bit symbolic of the team.

PRE
McBean and Griffiths started OK but lack lustre after first quarter

The coaching staff should sit both players down to watch replay of game and show them what effort does to win ball

Please no one post McBean to be in ones this week (ryan)

Lennon, Griffiths and McBean were very disappointing (ToO)

McBean looked mentally shot. I think he’s cooked. (scoop)

McBean, Griffiths, Lennon, Moore were arrogantly ordinary, just thought they would run around comfortably and do it by talent over effort. (iluvdisco)

Best maybe you get to a game Lamb Chops as I have been pretty hopeful of the bean making it but was left very 50/50.

His opponent was at least 2 inch's shorter than him so you would expect he would go ok marking wise..but I never felt comfortable anytime the ball went into the forward line that he would dominate. (Berwick boy)

Round 4

Coach
Liam McBean
One goal, four disposals, two tackles

Had a really quiet, disappointing game, with only four disposals and one goal. Needs to work harder at the contest.

PRE
He's out there, but no impact. Ditto McBean.

Another strong defensive mark to Griffens gives him more contested marks than Beanie and Chol have had touches between them. (spook)

McBean and Chol aren't going to get much of the ball by trailing 5 meters behind the defenders. (smoking aces)

I love the Bean but he's been woeful tonight. (spook)

Beanie: Twice competed in the air with the requisite aggression. The rest of the time played from behind and flew with one hand. Disappointing. (spook)

Round 5

Coach-
Liam McBean
One goal, nine disposals, three marks

Struggled on the day. He had limited opportunity early, but his connection with the other forwards was poor. We need a stronger four-quarter contribution from him

PRE
Mcbean kicked 2 but was outmarked by his opponent many many times. Did well in last few minutes of game when moved up back and got some touches. (ryan)

Round 6

Coach
Liam McBean
Four goals, 10 disposals, seven marks

Another team member who played his role well. Four goals (4.2) was a good outcome for him on the back of hitting up on the lead and taking five marks inside 50.

18 touches and 3 contested marks. Maybe PRE reports are just reports from someone that posts on PRE. ;D

The PRE reports are great and appreciated. I tend to follow the posters I trust more closely than others. I prefer first hand observations though.

The RFC reports are basically propaganda and used to promote the Richmond Way and any other agenda vis a vis personnel they decide to push.

Taylor Hunt was a great kick one week.(later edited)

If you reckon Dimma has time to write or even care about what the marketing department publishes on the RFC website you need a reality check brother.

Hey Rosy,

For the part of my post your quoted, I was genuinely interested if you, or anyone, had any idea of what Liam was being asked to do but not doing. And I still think knowing this would be really interesting and would bring flood-like cleansing to this thread. :)

So based on the amalgam of issues on Mcbeans VFL form he needs to:

Get to more contests
Have an impact
Not wait for the ball to come to him
Not die off in the 2nd half
Work harder in the contest
Connect with other forwards
Have a stronger 4 quarter contribution

Which is all very well, I get it but.....why isn't Ty marked to the same stabdards? He fails in all these aspects as well. For me it's not so much McBean has to get a game it's the double standards afforded to players Dimma clearly favours.

you bag the RC for exaggerating, then exaggerate to 'prove' your point. or was there actually a report that said Morris was "amazing"?

I reckon we can get a good idea from what I posted. PREnders who have kindly given us reports of their live experiences seem to support my feeling that the coaches want more of Liam. Do you disagree with what they say?

Reading back through the threads it seems Harry hasn't seen too many of the games live. He hasn't responded to questions about that. I'd like to know what he feels is false about what the coaches and PREnders have said about Liam. Over to you Harold :hihi

Didn’t say he writes them however there is a clear bias towards the players he favours

I've seen enough to know Liam deserves a proper go in the firsts. In comparison griff has one decent game and is brought back in. I've seen enough of griff and vickery in the firsts to know Liam has deserved a go at the expense of one of them. I've seen enough games to know that double standards at selection is alive and well under the hardwick regime. I trust my eyes more than anything. How many games have you seen live?

None and i have openly admitted i base my opinions on coaches reports PRE reports and stats. How many games have you sen live thid year? The questioms you have asked have on thr game day threads e indicated you weren't there. Do you disagree with the PREnder comments?

Oh and before you ask me again, coz I know you will, I haven't seen any games live this year but have seen enough in previous years to know he's still being shafted.

The comments saying he should be promoted?

I didn't notice too many reports from those at the games suggesting he should be promoted.
