Fletcher has hardly put on a kg since he started and has played 390+ games. It's not the size that counts but the core strength and psychological strength.

Fletcher has a set of shoulders about 5 foot across. Liam is pretty slight up top. Wonder what HW would do if JR went out. Surely it would force his hand.

I don't know. He's 200+ freaking centimeters. How many tackles do you want the guy to lay?

I understand Dimma's reticence, I do. But at some point he's got to not only encourage players to address their deficiencies but encourage them to develop their strengths.

You've got something special on your hands with McBean. Play an extra defensive forward if you're that worried about it.

You know what Rhul, that is a cracking post.

I agree. Do you want your fast twitch, fast leading forwards flogging themselves to death tackling and chasing. There is some balance required here imho.

We're still in the hunt. Lets not bring in inexperienced skinny kids unless we really have too.

Whether he debuts this year or next is immaterial in the grand scheme of things

Fixed it for you Balloo

Dunno. You guys are way too brightsiderish for me. Calling a kid that has never played a game of senior footy "really exceptional" is a bit of a leap of faith.

It sounds like he certainly has "potential", but as of yet untested.

not sure about you, but "exceptional" talent can be identified at any level.

could see it with jack's early VFL games and can see it with Beano.

Our club, and others, are littered with excptional talent identified at junior level and even the seconds but didn't make the leap to the seniors.

But like I said, keep those rose coloured glasses on brightsider, they suit you.

Out of contracts at years end, yeah? We better watch out, the Dogs have a cheeky $1mil a year for 5 years to throw around. ;)

So you agree he's exceptionally talented but won't give him a run in the seniors.

Even as a first year player gets another game in a near-final.

You're logic eludes me ???

We all know 200cm + players take time to develop and adopt the the standards of AFL. Maric didnt "click" till he was 25-26, and all the talk of what Vickery might be able to potentially achive in a couple of years time when he us 25-26yo. McBean is a lightweight 20yo you would hope continue to develop and ready himself for a long career.

Your understanding of a Lennon type vs McBean eludes me ???
