Kamdyn McIntosh

I’ve never said otherwise. I’ve acknowledged they probably got their superannuation/testimonial after taking pay cuts to fit other players in.
But regardless Cotch went a year too long as did Grimes. JR still had some good some poor games!. But we had no one else.
Funnily enough “you don’t knife an aging star” but that depends who it is as well, whether their contract is up. Ie Houli was straight out. You could see Grimes and Cotch struggling the year before. Grimes got another year, not that form deserved it. But was he one that took a pay cut like JR and Cotch? If so I think the agreement was less money but another year added. We honoured that agreement.

Riewoldt should have played another year.

He would have kicked more goals hobbling around with a zimmer frame than Samson and Kosi combined.

I doubt we would have got too much more out of him. He gave it his best shot, played some decent games. Some underwhelming. But better to go when he decided to call it a day, rather than just look like a cardboard cutout of his former self. Hardly able to chase, his footy smarts helped, but in the end he was done. He hardly had anything left to give. Maybe mentally he was spent as well.

I think he would have as well.

He's actually the perfect sub option for us. Experienced and willing to play any position we need, if he's the sub, it means our youngsters don't need to take the vest and get more game time either in the AFL or VFL team. Wins all round
That all sounds just great with one big problem though. He doesnt play any position well any more.

Wing no thanks i was over his fumbles and poor disposal years ago. Others have indeed gone past his very low current bench mark.
The game has changed as well and is demanding we change with it.

Forward fair dinkum id rather we kept Cumberland. Play Bauer there instead or god forbid another kpf in Gray.
How many smalls do we have clamoring for a game as well ? thats not to mention if we draft say a kid like Berry or Hotton.

Defence seriously in front of who? Smith Trezise are two that say hello Bauer a backline option Brown we are not seriously considering playing him in front of any of them are we. Travaglia and Imo Oliver has to be on our radar as well.

What about for needed experience? Well that is just a plain old crop of rubbish. There is plenty of experience spread thru the team for next year.
How does a fumbling panic merchant who turns it over way too often help anyone.

Does his onfield form warrant us keeping him ? Plain honest answer is NO. That is supported by the fact that statistically he is coming off his worst ever season and he has had his share over the years.

Its not 2020 people but will be 2025, five years since the last flag and it is way past the point where we need to stop living in the past.
Thats is the argument for delisting, imo it is a darn strong one.

Oh by the way we don't owe Kamdyn a damn thing. We have provided him with premierships and a long lucrative career when others may not have.

Yawn, we know your thoughts on Kamdyn from watching on TV. Not interested.

BTW I didn't say he was better than any of them, but he's the perfect SUB so that the youngsters can get as many minutes as possible in either side. Do you seriously want a young developing kid sat on the bench until 10-15 mins are left in the game? The way we dealt with Kaleb Smiths debut was awful, he'd have learnt more playing VFL.

KMac will be handy later in the season when the injuries inevitably hit, and young bodies learn that this AFL caper is hard. We’re gonna lose him, Prestia and Lynch at the end of the season. At least give the kids some protection in 2025. Vlastuin and Broad would be unlikely to play past 2026.

I'd rather a mature age state player that can actually have an impact then seeing KMac flap around again for another year. Really disappointing decision to keep him on

Eleven played 19 or more games where did he finish again having played 22. Oh thats right 11th.

One of the strongest deepest drafts of all time and we keep this bloke.
Gunna be interesting how many picks we actually use.

22 mostly ordinary games this year he is already taking games off kids.
To be fair, you’re a McKintosh hater and was calling for his delisting the year before.
That’s why no one can take your opinion seriously as you’re not objective. I prefer debating with your evil twin @Tiger-Pi55. He’s more balanced and a lot better looking

Yeah let’s get rid of a terrific, selfless, duel Premiership Richmond Man and replace him with a mature bush hack who is unfamiliar with our system and would add nothing to our culture

Why would a player new to the club not add to the culture?

I think the argument is we want to maintain our good culture. Someone from outside the club couldn't do that, as they'd never experienced it

Absolutely not better than Ralphsmith or Banks in the back half of the year and every second you play McIntosh your are taking away development.

Absurd to keep him another year. Time is well and truly up.
I’m surprised you can say that with a straight face.
Watch their contested work. Both may never even make it.
Make a player earn his position, not gifted games because they’re young.
Rule 101 of building a winning culture

I think it makes sense to keep him.

Big body on the field

Clear culture leader off the field. Not many left from the 🏆era sadly.

Overall had a very poor season imo, had a consistent period in the middle part after being dropped but outside that was terrible at times. Statistically his worst season ever by quite a long way, although 4 games were substitute and played a few more games as a forward.

Think it was inevitably likely he would stay on once Pickett had announced his retirement. And the mass of departures this year also have helped his cause. I'd expect to see him playing more VFL time next year and surely his last.

I admit, I never predicted he would play 11 years of top level footy.

Lol. So how do you keep the culture going without bringing anyone in?? Does Kmac play till he's 90? We've had some wonderful state players come in and not only contribute to the culture but actually helped create it. Prestia, Vlas, Nank, Broad etc. Still plenty left to continue the culture but also contribute on the field. KMac has been struggling the last 2 years so why we would want him for another year is beyond me. So we are keeping players now purely for the sake of culture. Right! No point I suppose on trying to improve the list

You want to take shots mate fine by me.

How the hell you think a player who doesnt do well in any position anymore is a good sub is beyond comprehension.

With you if its not a big praise fest then its just a yawn.
You make excuses up for the inexcusable and think your smart.
I see no point having a debate with anyone who is so blinkered so from here on in your on ignore yep you guessed it not interested.

We’re bringing in 8 juniors through the draft.
And we’re teaching them how to play and behave in the Richmond way.
And we’ll probably bring in some top end talent at the right demographic and position specific the year after.
That’s how you improve your list.
Not bringing in mature age State players. That’s putting bandaids on a gaping wound.

When is a player never past it for the hive?
When they have the badge on their duffell coat it seems never . Cmon we all know its true.

Hilarious that the same people then talk about player performance in most other threads.
Well done to the hivers good to see nothing changes no matter how poor a player becomes.

It is sad in a way these types of things we were regularly doing for 37 yrs of abject failure. Seems some did not learn the lessons of the past or were not around to observe those lessons.

A DUD IS A DUD IS A DUD. That is where Kamdyn is at right at this moment. But wait he will make a good DUD sub.

I would like just two questions answered.
What role on the field does he do well nowdays ?
Who is he a better option than in the back half, front half or midfield?

I can't wait for all the deflections that will invariably come this way.
