So I've been advocating keeping him, so pleased for this. Good club man and a great trainer apparently. I had no idea he was that far away from 200....

That said, to play nearly half the season...I'm hoping it is as a sub.
We need this fella to be bypassed by the younger brigade. Banks, HRS, Ross (if he stays on a wing). I want him to battle to.200, not coast to that target. If he's coasting, it means the others haven't stood up - and that's not a good sign for the club.

KMac doesn’t seem the type to coast. He’s a 100% kind of player.

I agree. He played 22 games this season. Plenty of kids on the list. Plenty of other players got their “testimonial”year. He’s been a fine warrior. One more season, then hand the baton over.

10 games to go for Macca. If he gets to 200 games, does that make him a afl life member? With free tickets and passes? Give it to him, get whatever we can from those pricks after all the $millions we’ve paid in fines.

He's actually the perfect sub option for us. Experienced and willing to play any position we need, if he's the sub, it means our youngsters don't need to take the vest and get more game time either in the AFL or VFL team. Wins all round

Hopefully the philosophy around the use of the sub has shifted. It wasn’t fun seeing a youngster sitting on the bench until with 10 mins to go in the last when the result was decided.

We can’t just field a team of kids. Unless you want to end up like North. Not to mention the off field guidance they need.

For minimal chips it ain’t the end of the world.

We ain’t North. There’s enough leadership. And his own field output was woeful this year, no role, so why keep him?

Go get a 22-24 year old VFL star, try and unearth a Lambert.

In the end it doesn't matter too much whether he goes or stays. He'd be good for training standards but if he's getting a game a kid is not playing.
Dow on the other hand shouldn't be on the list.

If a kid can't get a game ahead of Mac, the kid's probably better off playing reserves.

Legend.

When all the kids have broken down, screws rattling out of joint, Kmac will continue to patrol the wing like the terminator.

And he can Mr fixit, forward or back.

Personally, I reckon he could kick 20+ goals as a permanent half forward, the hardest and most thankless position to play in our side. He would take the hit, professionally and without complaint, over one of the kids.

Glad he's there for another year.

One of my favourite moments of crowd banter happened this year during the Freo game.

Freo supporter yells
'You guys are in trouble if Kamdyn McIntosh is kicking your goals.'

Richmond supporter yells back,
'You're just upset because he's another West Australian with more premierships than Fremantle.'

At the least, he still is that.

Good grief he's actually the last guy on the list that played for The Coburg Tigers. Deserves 200games as he always remained loyal to the club and could've gone West when he peaked. If we were a stronger side around 12-8 I would've delisted him , so he stays for positive culture building over actual football ability. Run him as sub as he offers the same efforts consistently from the first bounce to the final siren. You can't question his fitness, commitment and loyalty so run him around again Tigers.

11th in the B&F hardly woeful.
Was sub how many times? In a side that is the worst in the comp by a long way with major injuries, 11th this isn’t the flex you think it is.

Has never kicked more than 9 in a season and now you expect him to kick 20+ in his final year when he will barely be playing.

Nonsense. Loyal servant who has got every bit of talent from himself but the game has so passed him by. Wasted list spot in 2024.

At this stage I still lean towards moving him on. I just think whilst we know he will give his absolute best, at this stage of our rebuild I’d rather get a look at a new face that has upside than Kam who’s on the wrong side of the bell curve.
That said if kept am not fussed. At least we know he’ll keep giving us everything he’s got & he is a great club man.

Not stressed either way...if he is not good enough he wont get picked.

But handy to have if we really struggle in a certain position next year as a back up...can play most spots if needed.

No one, and I mean NO ONE can flap like flappers !!

I think the other consideration, we're going to finish low next year and need to turn over 3 players minimum.
Kamdyn will be 1. After him, Prestia likely another. Dow if re-signed this year, the next.
It gets a lot less obvious after that as we're now cutting our young fellas.
Big 2025 coming up for folks like Sonsie. Pressure on.

Nothing wrong with spreading the core part of our rebuild over 2 years.
