Super athlete apparently. Got it all. Plus a foot long steel rod in his leg.

Was that a steel rod or was he just happy to see you. :hihi

i think leigh masters at coburg could be worth a closer look. started the season in coburg reserves, but has been in the best players of the seniors since moving up

Wouldn't mind pillaging the Cannons team this year. O'Rourke, Atkins, McBean etc.

O'Rourke

Atkins
Wines

Bonaddio

Then a ruck or KPP.

Anyone seen much of Steve Verrier's little brother Brendan in WA?

I hear he goes alright.

Looked at his stats just then. Gets more of it than Steve, will be interesting to see if his name gets mentioned in draft talks.

Hows about a Whitfield/ Vlastuin/Stringer / Kennedy duo from our first 2 picks ;D

Then a quality tall KPP with 3rd.

Yeah im dreamin.

Vlastuin and Kennedy would be a dream.

You just don’t know at this stage. Always some bolters.

What about Plowman Rippon and Lennon would Rippon and Lennon be worth a look I've got no idea about any of the kids. Scooper could the tigers feasibly get two gun midfielders and a KPD such as a Smith

Would we possibly look at the freak ruckman Grundy? Our ruck situation is still precarious isnt it?

For those with an idle Sunday.

Try the U18 Champs

Sun 20th May, Trial 2, Vic Metro vs. Vic Country, Visy Park

Starting time not listed, but usually around 10am.

Have you got a list of the player's names handy, Phantom?

I think it is going to be 6 * 20 minute quarters.

Vic Metro

Vic Country

Unfortunately, no numbers.

Really keen to see how Matthew Haynes and Rory Aktins go over the next three months.

At the moment I am a big wrap for both.

Isn't Haynes supposed to be ultra ultra quick Scoop? Pretty much outside player?

Yep, super quick and 190cm. Would be handy to have on a wing pushing forward.

Another name I am going to throw out who I think would fit in is Tim Membery from the Gippy Power. Plays KPF for them but is only 188cm. Has outstanding skills and understands the game. No super athlete but a footballer’s footballer. Sounds very much like Tom Rockliff. We need that medium forward. This lad could be it.

Ah Tom Rockliff, How the hell did all clubs pass on this bloke over & over in the National draft,as Scooper describes above why would you not choose a natural footballer that kicked goals???

Will be keeping an eye out for him Scoop.

What's more baffling is Rockliff starred in the TAC grand final, usually scouts take serious notice of players who perform when it counts.

Dunno about starred, Bullus. You had to look a bit deeper than the obvious.
Sidebottom kicked 10 goals and nobody seemed to look any further than he and Ziebell for goal-kicking midfielders. They all seemed to overlook the guy who was also in that group but had also been the competition leading goalkicker the previous year.

Just goes to show how some of the "accepted wisdom" is simply lazy follow-the-leader thinking.
The story about Tommy was that he was a goalkicker but only did it in bursts and they all ignored his midfield work cos he wasn't as pretty as the other two.
