Jay Schulz [Merged]

Cleaver was quiet tonight. Leaves the door open for Jay and Jack if they want to step up by dominating in the VFL tomorrow. Cleve will stay in the ones until dislodged by irresistable performances by Jay or Jack in the VFL. Great, healthy competition for spots.

Had rare game time though.

I think Jay injured his hip on Thursday and is having trouble walking at the moment
Don't expect him to play this week

Yeah Cleve had limited time on ground tonight, may be dropped

Cleve was swung all over the place last night, forward, back and ruck. A bit hard for the young bloke to settle into any position the way he was used. And the forward line was back to the old days of being totally Richo focussed, which would have been great if he had his kicking boots on.

Having said that, I would love to have seen Jays straight shooting last night, they would have struggled to find a match for him and he would have converted better than Richo.

This guy is so frustrating, we all know he's got the goods, he just seems so lazidasical most of the time. He can certainly take a great mark, is usually a pretty good shot at goal, and can bust a pack, its all the one percenters, the chasing, his defensive pressure isn't there. I hope he gets it together soon and starts producing what we all know he can.

I think the supporters who are looking for a Richo replacement need to refocus, there are very few in the game that can turn a match like Richo.

I think Jay has a future in a multi pronged forward line with Cleve and Jack, all of them kicking a few goals a match and occasionally more. Far less predictable than "kick it to Richo" like we do now.

A good point regarding alternative routes to goal. I think one of the important reasons we did so well last night is that we had many running goals kicked by our midfielders including Tivendale, Hyde, Johnson and Tuck. Takes away the predictability factor. Players just need confidence to know they can do it.

Agree Linus.
Jay's not going to be the next Richo but that doesn't necessarily mean he may not still be a handy forward for us.

Not impressed at all with Schulz today!

I'll go one further and say I am not impressed with Schulz period!

I try not to hang it on our players but this guy has had long enough to prove himself and he is just too lazy.

we seem to be talknig about trading meyer for meeson, why not trade shulz for meeson??

On Meeson.

I am aware he was taken petty high in his draft and was rated which is obviously part of the attraction but he hasnt really done anything has he from what i have read on here and has been injury prone also i believe.

Phantom fill me in, cos i believe we could do better than Meeson if trading for a ruck, we;d be better off chasing Cam Wood if we were to throw a player such as Schulz at a trade.

Trade hard and make some impact on our list, thats what i wanna see , not just trade for the sake of trading for a ruckman that hasnt shown much at all.

From what ive read Maric is a better option in the views of some of the more knowledgable posters on PRE in regards to kids.

Phantom, Evo, Red, any input would be good cos i admit to not knowing a heap about these 2 kids.

Needs a kick in the backside but as someone else has said on PRE, a kick in the arse would only cause a broken finger.
