Jake Batchelor

He's looking a lot bigger across the shoulders and arms. I wonder if he will still be played down back this year, seeing as we have many candidates for the back 6.

The backline seems to suit him nicely.

Intercepts very well!

Probably saved his career, with his second half of 2014.

I want him to turn into a rebounding attacking defender, that's a big list deficiency imo.

Been doing speed training in the off-season...hoping to quicken him up.

With Apollo?? ;D

I reckon there might be spot for him early. Is Astbury fit to start? I'd have Batchelor first-off before Ricky P or Newman.

Surprised we gave him a 2 year deal, I just can't see him making it, looses way too many one on ones down back, has to reinvent himself

Thought he played fairly well as an undersized n senior defender for us against the doggies. No Tross, Chap or *smile* down back for us that game just Batch, Grub n Elton John with a bunch of beginners holding up the back half.

Agree, he does a good job for a undersized kpp. It's a shame that he's not a few centimeters taller, as he doesn't have much pace. I still think he is definitely worth a 2 year deal, at the very least as a depth player.

Jake Batchelor has really turned into a unit this off season

Im very very excited about what he has shown so far this season and could take his game to another level and really become an integral part of the team

Im starting to think that the penny has dropped with Jake this year

Very good reader of the ball and man.

Agree. I keep finding myself shoehorning him into my prospective best 22. If he got the ball another 4 or 5 times again, he'd be super important.

He was ok. The usual mixed bag IMO. Some very good, some not so.
Thought Grimes and Vlastuin were clearly better players on the day.
Batchelor is a handy depth player for what we have but I still think he's outside the fringe of our best 22.
