Probably saved his career over the last 2 months or so.

It would help our backline even more if either he or Grimes add a consistent rebounding element to their games.
Actually I've noticed with Jakes game that he HAS been doing a bit of rebounding. Ive noticed him numerous times running through CHB into the square and delivering long.

Yep, the Saints game being a highlight for both he and Grimes in that regard. Would just like to see it done more consistently, adds a whole other dimension to our backline.

he has been good but he has got very big in the body which i can't help think makes him less mobile that he was. He was talked about as a potential winger in his first year.

Not sure if that is true but we need him to play tall and small.

Second year. First year he played back and won a lot of praise. Second year they moved him forward and he has taken this long to find his backman form again. Worst case of second year blues in recent memory.

Batch has been great , reads the ball well, kickes the ball well and loves to hurt :clap :clap Going to be interesting when big Ash is ready , Can we play Chaps ,Ranc ,Grimes , Batch and Ash in the same side ?

Love to have the footage where he flattens the St Kilda forward front-on from two weeks back - anyone?

Think it was in the third quarter.

Thank god for his effort in the final 10 seconds. Saved us the match.

Amen. He was also the one who got the little touch on the (otherwise) goal the Swans kicked out of the pack in the third quarter.

Another player who had an absolute nightmare.
Slow, fumbled, 15m off his opponent until dragged.
1 possession.
I just don't rate this Jake and nothing has changed def trade bait if we're lucky to have any takers.
Likely won't.

Too slow. Doesn't get enough of it & create. Next.

Said this even when others were singing his praises. If he can't become damaging with the ball, and remains purely a stopper he'll need to be replaced.

I'd rather play Astbury as a stopper and have Rance as a third defender, who is far more daring and creative by foot.

When Batchelor, Morris, Grimes, Chaplin get less than 10 posessions most weeks it makes it very hard for Rance , Houli and the midfielders to do all the rebounding.

Agreed. At least Grimes tries to create but looked stunned today. Must replace Batchelor, Morris & Chaplain.

Exactly right. Only depth from now on. Grimes and Batch not to be in the same team again.

Was run ragged and maybe we need to trade up but today was a TEAM CAPITULATION. The stars let down the support cast way more than the support cast let down the stars.

IMHO his a bloody good footballer , unfourtunatly I don't think it's of AFL standard, he or Dea must go

He is like a lot of our team at the moment, a good solid 'blue collar' player that doesn't have the attributes of a good modern day AFL player.
