Jake Batchelor

Turning into a right ole hard bastard. Glad to see him becoming a needed player

Looks better when he's going for those cut off marks. I said to the missus at one stage wouldn't mind him forward for 5 mins.

It's like dropping a boulder in the backline. He's solid as. Not particularly offensive but he's a great rock.

He looks a lot bigger as well. Fills out that Tiger jumper nicely now.

He is worth persevering with

Who is this bloke? We used to have another bloke called Jake Batchelor but he was more like a poor man's Graeme Landy. This new fella's unpleasant. I'm enjoying him.

That's it, TJ. He just loves knocking blokes over. It's great to watch.

Long term successor to Chaplin in the 'sag off and read the incoming ball' role.

Yep. I'm in this camp as well. However "not convinced" is a major upgrade on my previous assessment. The graph is trending up!

I think he's perfect trade bait. Excess to our requirements and would have a little currency for another side.

Playing better defensively , however with him only getting a handful of touches each week, Morris s poor form an lack of getting the footy as well as Grimes generally lacking touches, we really need to ad some classy run an ball winning ability down back. At this point our mids have to work super hard to run the ball out of the defensive 50 , geez a suckling, Birchall, Malcheski type would be nice

Agree. I couldn't be more happy with this Batchelor. Not trying to do anything outside of what he can with the ball but is halving or winning most one on one contests.

In career bets form,

but,

Too slow and not a good enough kick to play his position.

A good club would trade him for something we really need, a quick outside runner.

Whilst we have Rance, Chaplin and Grimes there, the landscape is perfect for Jake. Like to see him push up some what more, use his left foot, a decent kick when he does not try be "too cute" with his disposal. When we ask him to play on the monsters or those that are expectational over head, is when he is exposed. Doing his role for now, happy to just play his part in defense.

That 50 game milestone has surprised me - thought he was back with Griff on around 30 games.

Another player who has turned his season around - hope he plays well
