I wouldn't mind see him have a go in the forward line

At the expense of who?

I don't mind having him as depth as a running HB flanker, however his last couple weeks have been excellent at VFL level and he is close to getting a senior game in his own right.

I mean at vfl level, he has a very good kick and not bad hands, another swing man??

Liked him early on, however I think been a tweenie his lack of leg speed is the problem at the top level, think his style is not what we need down back at this point, Grimes fit is a much better option in his beat role, can he be re invented else where :don't know

I noticed last year that when his confidence dropped it stayed that way, the longer the game went, the less confident Batchelor seemed to become. Has he eradicated that tendency to want to have a quick touch before actually grabbing the ball firmly?

I've noted before that Sammy Spade seems a better player in the AFL than the VFL. He's been ok the last fortnight. I hope he makes it because I reckon he adds much-needed leadership and *smile*.

Good to see he got rid of that ridiculous beard as well.

Think Jake has a lot of good attributes as a footballer, just don't think he has it as an AFL player, like his aggression in team first attitude , however I've seen enough to say I'd put a line through him now, hope he proves me wrong an turns it on for the rest of the season

Yep, like so many players he could eke out a career as 5th -6th defender if he were at Hawthorn or Freo or Geelong. But being a run of the mill player means you get lost at RFC .....but then again.....

A real coach would had him as one of the elite HBF's in the comp.
Kicks well and has good hands. Every time I've seen him he plays well too

I reckon he has been pretty solid the last few weeks. Not sure why he hasn't been given more of a go beforehand, he is certainly doing a better job down there then some of the others. Think he will make it, provided we show some faith and leave him in there.

Doesn't do anything flash and is a bit slow on the turn but he is a trier and has a good attitude. Glad he has finally kicked a goal in AFL but as a player with a long career at Richmond? I doubt it.

A proper coach would play him as the +1 in defence.
agree

I ve heard a bit about these proper coaches - hopefully one day we'll get one.
