Jake Batchelor

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Darling and Kennedy were the danger men and they were both well held after looking dangerous early.

Thought Batch smashed him actually.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

He's a funny one Batch, because of his funny attributes get him the right matchup & he can be very valuable. Strong, not overly tall or athletic guys like Hurley & Darling the past two weeks suit him a treat. Beat them both. Rendered Darling useless actually.

Other times he'll be a hard one for the coaching staff to make use of.

Just on one of your points - Darling is a fantastic athlete. One of the quickest at West Coast.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Straight line maybe, but he has a poor change of direction, he's not nimble on his feet which suits Batch.

He'll be harder to find a matchup when Grimes comes back.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

He matched up a couple of times in the first quarter on Kennedy which was downright scary. Kennedy would have kicked 10 on him.

Try him as a lead up HF, he has great hands and kicks ok

Agree but he's a decent enough backup in the meantime. Agree with Daisy, Batch needs the right matchup. Less flexible than Dylan when fit.
He's not without strengths but he also has his flaws and some of those were again on display the other night.

You guys talk about Grimes like he is David Dench. He form when he was playing was ordinary.
Besides that his always injured.

Geez!
Going well zipper, straight off the Grimes bandwagon n onto the Whitey express. You've managed to pump Lonners into the side who's our next superstar in need of a cheer squad?

Grimes was doing his job. But yes his injury woes are a concern. Might be made out of balsa wood.

Do you even know what you're talking about?
Next thing you'll be saying is Grigga is a superstar.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

The interesting thing about Batch on Monday was that we pushed him forward late. He went very hard. It was like the panel decided to free him up a bit and let him boost his confidence with a goal, while giving us a bit of fresh energy.

The move worked IMO. And it was just the sort of surprise swing that hasn't been happening much.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

I like the lad. Great pair of hands and reads the play well.
Will only get better as he continues, yet to reach 50 games.

Plays better tall then small. Needs to play on a lead up type who isn't overly kick over the first five. But when he finds the right match up, he carves them.

Has belted Hurley twice & made Darling look invisible. Against the Crows, Tom Lynch is the man. Should carve him.

did he actually move forward or just get there with the flow?

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

He was deep, brodders. Was in several contests. I was only watching on TV but looked to be playing forward and he was lively.

I'd be interested in more info. (I won't get to watch this game again for a while.)

Not a great Foxtel connection in Cuba?
