Might be time to bring in Dea.

Really, Ellis AND Batchelor is too much unreliable defence.

Dea is no good. Not up to AFL standard. He is courageous but has no composure and can't kick. A poor man's Duncan Kellaway.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

batch got better as the game wore on.

actually found myself thinking griffiths would've been a better match up.

then i slapped myself. looked pretty weird.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

I agree with the mismatch theory, should not have been played on their second forward. Not strong enough to compete

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Drop him? Got to be joking. He was excellent last week and also was composed a couple of times late to steady the ship. Some of the delivery maisterbator got was first rate. It was a poor match up really. If you are looking for omissions - go hit up the grigg threa. He was dismal.

Agree. He is more clumsy than Rance. Cant have Rance, Dea and Morris in the same backline. They will just crash into each other all day.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

After playing well last week, I couldn't see who he would play on tonight. He had to give away a lot height and weight to Maitser who is underrated.
He looked a bit lazy at times, but I thought he did some good things also.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Stupid matchup. They drop Griff and everyone else gets shuffled up one meaning Batch and Rance both had horrible matchups.
If Griff plays then he chases Riewoldt's arse all night and Nick might get an extra couple of possies outside 50 but Griff is safer than Rance close to goal. Then the rest of them dominate their opponents because Rance kills Meister, Chaplin plays chop off which he is a gun at and Batch uses his height over Milera who is not fast but outsmarted Houli at times. batch should always play on the least explosive small/mid size forward when he is in the team.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Mismatched? I'm sure I heard last week Batchelor could play tall or small. So I guess now it's just small?
Maister is no giant, nor a world beater but Batchelor was clearly outgunned. As I keep saying with Grimes back I wonder where he fits in.
Griffiths is a genuine tall and probably would have been a better matchup. Reckon we erred in playing Jake tonight. I don't see him as best 22.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Maister slaughtered him. Too big and Batch didn't help his cause by playing 10m behind. In retrospect Griff would have been a much better match-up.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Probably would've got embarrassed like Griffiths.

Probably? :hihi

Maister is a midget by comparison. Griffiths ain't great in the air against genuine talls but he'd have been a better fit tonight against BeauM.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

I really admire Beau Wilkes. For a start his given name means Pretty Man. And then he went and done played the ukelele and sang songs about his feelings, badly, and took his girlfriend's surname (ackshelly she wasn't his girlfriend - she was partners with Brian Harris in a fish 'n' chip shop that went broke).

But Beau Maister kicked two goals on somebody. Maister has no talent but is 94kg(?). Batch is what? 80?

You cant be serious Griffiths on Reiwoldt, maybe in the goal square Griffiths may have been able to do OK but up the ground would have been slaughtered, I think some forget how bloody good an how hard Nick runs

Im a fan of Batchelor but theres goin to be opponents better suited to others, especially with a fit Grimes an Rance who can match up all types
