Batchelor helped stop Carlton's tall forwards getting the ball in several marking contests. Made a impact when we needed help in defence. Batchelor found form when he needed it.

Was good to see some of the 2011 Batchelor on display tonight.

It's a pity you have to place your bets before they spin the Roulette wheel...Batch is so good at reading the drop he would make a squintillion.

Got a game after Petterd was a late scratching. Ouch. Musta hurt.
I have never seen a player go backwards (2YB or not) the way Jake Batchelor did in 2012. It amazed me.
But his game tonight was a perfect evolution of his very fine 2011 form. The real Jake Batchelor.

A bloke behind me started the game saying what a dud he was and that turnovers were coming when he had the ball.
By the end of the game he was saying what a sure pair of hands he has and excellent disposal

While Vickery really pleased me with his efforts, Batchelor was the highlight of the game for me. He saved our bacon on multiple occasions down in defence.
If he can play like that consistently, our backline is going to be very, very hard to get on top of this year, especially when Grimes gets back.

Does the Nick Maxwell zone off third man up but also can hurt the other way.
The spoil in the third was super but he didn't stop, he followed up and get a rebounding kick.
That's the key to his game. This was Batch at his best. Must keep it up.
