Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Was good and is clearly best 22 playing like that.

Yep. Looked well short of a run. Second half especially really battled.

Seriously? Loved his game tonight. Spoiled when he needed to, took the marks when he could, and most importantly really used the ball well. Under extreme pressure a few times, threaded the handball or the quick kick to advantage several times. Full of class tonight and looked like he belongs back in the seniors.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Definitely in our best 22....lot to like.......tough..hard at it....makes a couple of skill error balls ups but definitely potential to be 200 gamer

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

So so game. Needs a bit of intensity back. Sloppy on occasion. But I agree with Boozy is short of a senior run. Second year blues. No need to panic. Will still be a beauty I reckon.

Yeah much improved on his form from last time. Really good to see.

Yep.

Must say I was a bit worried by his drop off this season. Looked like a bad case of second year blues, and kept thinking of Stephen Ryan in comparison.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

A good size but he's one I've been concerned about making the grade. Was good early when the young back six was put to the test without Newman down there.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Has had a mixed season some great games and some not so good.

Thought he did well tonight.

Showed great desperation and used it reasonably well.

1 thing did *smile* me off though and it's a basic fundamental mistake he needs to iron out. When he takes a mark he needs to run back over the mark and stay on his line. Was forced to play on and put himself under unnecessary pressure 2 or 3 times tonight.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Been alot of chit chat about Heppell and Conca - But looking at Batchelor tonight and seeing Heppell in the same game , I know which i prefer and he doesnt shirk a contest

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Yeah he played okay, but who has his opponent? Whoever that no noname Essendon player wearing no.18 was he wasn't much chop. I'll wait to see how he does against some of quality forwards Port have.
