Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

I'm still a fan, but I agree it is important to never lose sight of the fact that the true enemy is other posters.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Is going to be a very good player, he's looked a bit proppy since coming back into the side after missing a game.

HE has big problems bending down for mine. IS good at intercepting opposition kicks but look casual and slow too ofter.

He isn't very agile

You enjoy being negative about him, don't you?

Batch isn't someone I am concerned about. He really seems like "The General" in defence, he keeps a cool head and has good disposal he is a fantastic judge of the ball in the air. I don't really feel like he needs to be overly quick as he makes up for it in awareness. He knows his surroundings very well.

He will turn out to be quite the player IMO.

good pick up henri on batch and his issues bending over, believe it is an issue in the structural make-up of his hips that will be rectified in due course

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Bit of trivia...... Jake could play on Haynes today and they know each other well, both Frankston Bombers boys ,

That must be weird for a couple of kids to grow up together in the same junior club and then line up against each other in the AFL.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Everyone makes interesting points but the question of how long one has been on PRE shouldn't be the determining factor if whether one's point is valid or not.

Agree. Don't see the issue with Leconte's post. Wrapped up Batch's intercept marking besides.
Nothing wrong with a variety of opinions.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

The one knock I've had on Batch this season is that he seems to fumble when he initially takes the ball, he nearly always recovers it, gets it back and moves it on, but that split second that he fumbles can be the difference between getting it to a player who's free and giving it to someone who's under the gun. Does anyone know if he had any injuries to his hands or fingers that may cause the fumbles over the off season? I can't remember him doing it last year.

Great point. Leconte’s (like it ToO) was fair and I agree.

Batch has lost the one touch ability he had below his knees last year.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

I stuck up for him but my god he was awful today. Made me look silly. Maybe the bye will do him good but he could spend a couple weeks at Coburg.

Did not have a good day.
Maybe needs the rest.

If Grimes and Morris both come back after the break, then Batch will have a spell at Coburg.

Was awful today. Got towelled by every one he went too.

The last 2 or 3 weeks he has been making terrible skill errors as well (Dea also).
The opposition is on to it. We can dominate general play but not be in front because soft goals are being given away by skill errors.
We aren't being given easy goals.
Batchelor, Dea, Houli and Ellis are all guilty on this over the last 2 or 3 weeks - needs to improve

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

He was bad last week and this week too, needs the bye and probably some time at Coburg after it.
