Bit like Diesel Williams eh Tails. They have one other shared quality, that sixth sense of where to step to, to maximise time to dispose, then stepping away to receive the ball back at optimum angle. These are the space finders.

Not sure about this apparent move to the midfield for Batch. I'm sure he would do fine but I like his calmness and mature head up back. Especially with Lids moving up the field and also potentially Newman. Add a couple of new faces in Ellis maybe Morris and Dea and I can see some panic play coming out of the backline which we've only worked to prevent the last couple of years.
I see Batch as a career backman in the Corey Enright mold. There's nothing wrong with that either, it's a very important team role that he can play for a long time. Watch him, he's a natural back there. Probably because that's where he played most of his junior footy.

Jackpot. Batch has a key role to play in the future but I see it is a back. He is everything we have lacked in the backline for years.
He is really good at fading off his man and intercepting the kick coming into the 50. From there he can launch attacks. I like a back six of Rance, Grimes, Batch, Ellis/Morris, Newman, Houli. Best it has looked in 15 years.

What has he done? 4 time All-Australian, 3 time premiership player and current best and fairest in one of the greatest teams of all time. Yeah, he hasn't done much . . .
If Batch turns out to be half the player Enright is we have done well

When we start playing finals and winning flags, I bet that Batchelor will be an overall better player.
It's not like that Geelong would've of lost if he didn't play in them.
In the 08 GF Rioli gave him a bath!!!
He is just lucky he is playing in a very strong side..

Need another tall in your backline Scoop. Post, Biggie, DA, Muscles. One of them will play every week. The Rocket Man might even make an appearance and we'll be in gravy if Kel does-touch-wood-RIP. A backline is more than six players these days, but sometimes it might be full and it wouldn't hurt Sammy Spade aka The Knife In The Water aka One of The Two Jakes to have a run there occasionally. I believe Enright has done a bit of it.
By the way, Enright has 4 AA's but one of them is Lids'.
