They wanted to draft him in 2010 or they wanted to poach him in the next year or so?

They wanted him with their first pick, which was 45 IIRC. Pretty sure that's why we werent prepared to hope he would be available at our next pick.

Can't see him spending more than 10% of his time in the midfield the over the next couple years at the very least. Back mostly.

I got him at #51 for Port in last years PRE phantom draft.

Very good news.

I had him at 52 in the Allybabe's Top 75 thread. The good lady herself was not a fan, it's fair to say.

Jake's a great example of someone playing in defense there whole lives & knowing the angles so well from all the time spent down there.

Also a good example of how playing an AFL-style zone defence at Dandenong enabled him to make a quick adjustment to AFL ranks. Challenge will be to see if the can improve from here.

They might have been happier with Fasolo and Batchelor instead of Farmer though. They had two consecutive picks IIRC.

Thanks Tooheys. Odd coming from leysy considering he wants Jack to play at full back and Cotchin and Martin in the back pockets to round out their football education yet he wants Batchelor to spend his entire career in the backline.
