He stuck that kick @36 seconds right onto Jack's chest too from memory.

Yep, and he tired this season - imagine what's ahead ;)

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

It's good to pick up a kid who you know is simply reliable and will do his job!

He reminds me of Craig Smith. Cruises around and seems to have time and doesn't panic.

More like a bigger version of Leon Cameron!

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Style wise, like others I see a lot of Joel Bowden in him but with a harder edge.
Won't be at all surprised to see him play in the midfield.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

I can see him having a mortgage on an AA back flank position for several years.

I've just been reading a couple of the better phantom drafts on BF.

Snoops Phantom had Jake going at pick #102

Quigley didn't have him in his top 60

Knightmare has him going at #59

Paul Daffy had him going at #54
I can't remember who the poster was but i do recall one post on PRE when he was picked which just said "Jake Who ? "

;D

They wanted to draft him in 2010 or they wanted to poach him in the next year or so?

Just goes to show how wide of the mark some of the 'better' phantom drafts are.
Thank heavens our football department is well beyond highlight clips and internet sources these days.

Re: Pick 30 - Jake Batchelor

Jake's a great example of someone playing in defense there whole lives & knowing the angles so well from all the time spent down there.

This ability will make up for any small lack of pace he has & should see him carve out a good career in our back 6.

No chance of moving far up the ground ILO, but thats fine.

Already played on the wing in his first year. Will definitely have stints up the ground.

I got him at #51 for Port in last years PRE phantom draft.

Very good news.
