Jake Batchelor

And I thought Trump got lucky. This guy just got kissed by an angel.

Hope he finds what I think he's got in him - an upward curve from his first season baseline.

Genuinely amazed he got a new contract.

Elton, Batchelor, Morris, Maric, Townsend, Hampson, Broad and some would include butler, Lambert etc in that group.

Going into the season carrying list cloggers aplenty.

Could easily delist 8-10 off the list without blinking an eye and there'd be little interest in them.

It's an amazing list. Besides Lambert, they don't even dominate VFL level.

I don't mind Lambert getting one more year. As you said he dominates the lower level. He's actual depth in that if he comes in for injuries he'd perform admirably.

The rest...waste of space. Only at Richmond.

Freo delisted 11 or somewhere around that mark. Its called doing a genuine rebuild after knowing your limitations, but not done at Pussyfoot land at Punt road. Lots of very soft spoilt Tigers get another year's pay for nothing. Ruthless Richmond lol.

Yeah if Kane Lambert is player 28 on the list, your not to bad. But the rest, geez. Jacob Townsend? Remember the hope for him. LOL. Last year he was the "grunt" that we lacked. Barely sighted. Not sure Batchelor will play at all unless there is a savage injury run.

Very lucky along with a few others but no doubt the club decided they would offer us more next year than picks in the draft at the back end. Pick 100 wont offer what Batch or any of the others do.
Next year when we have a full quota of picks these guys are goneski

I would have picked up Richards and delisted Batchelor. We need a tall for depth.

Trump wins
Batchelor re-signed
Waiting for Rioli to do his knee now

FMD will this club ever become professional

Glad this makes sense to someone, even if just the author.

Try him forward. Not as bad as people reckon.
Just a typical RICHMKND footballer. Cruise control for 10 years and without improvement

And this is why we are shiyte and will remain shiyte. I'd add grigg and houli, taking us nowhere but mid table at best.
FMD may as well add a few of us hacks on the list if these guys r on it. Wat a joke!!

Yeah it's unfortunate we didn't take opportunity to revitalise the list and clear the way for some more talent in the ND.

Unfortunately C Moore is also a longshot to make it. At least he has outstanding athletic and marking traits so maybe he can get his kicking to an acceptable standard. I doubt it though. Not a list clogger yet.

I've said a few times that batch should be used as a defensive forward!
Strong mark, reads the play, great kick!

I thought Butcher lost his way when we moved him up forward in his second or third season

No right foot and no left hand. As bad as Houli and for that matter Grigg. Why we persist in picking up left footers that have no right side skills is beyond me.

Batchelor for all his apparent toughness doesn't tackle often and when he does it doesn't tend to stick, hence when you look at his stats he is not credited with many. He wouldn't have the pressure to be a good defensive forward and isn't good enough to convert enough.

If we are going to reinvent someone as a defensive forward, personally the one screaming out for it is Conca.

Yes, weren't they grooming him for that very role in the 2016 pre-season but he was soon down with injury again? Back to the old drawing board?

They were grooming to use his kicking skills to help us out on the half back flank. Much more chance of him being successful as a defensive forward than a half back IMO.
