Jack Ross

Based on recent posts here, if:-

Jack Ross keeps on improving
Jack Riewoldt & Trent Cotchin retire
We go for next gen leaders

Should he be upgraded to JR9?

Bit early to be calling for the Captaincy.
4 weeks ago he was the sub.
Taranto, Baker, Short or even Daniel Rioli should all be considered for leadership roles.

Got to agree. I think it's great he's finding his feet. But let's not burden him while he's still consolidating his spot.
Good candidates there, although not sure on Rioli. Feel for someone like Vlastuin too. Think he's now too old, even though I think he'd be better than Grimes.

15 touches for 2 SI.

Not enough ball. Way off his best ball use. Caleb Poulter did about that much.

We dropped Ross a few weeks ago. That helped. We want a lift.

Ross’s improvement a big plus, but he is still down the line for the leadership.
Baker next year with two vice captains
Rioli and Lynch.
Taranto has been excellent but the Captaincy after one year would make the club look a little bewildered.

Under no circumstances

Can Ross be captain

Of a formidable AFL team

Too in consistent. Reminds me of tbe midfielders we would have in the late 80's.
Too slow and not strong enough to win his own ball.
We needed a Couglan not a King

After early bloopers he was good. Seemed to be the only one still applying pressure in the last. KMac should be the one we're questioning.

Give me some names, for old-times sake! You mean Freezer, Lamby?
Actually yeah Prescott, Dundas

Jack has been very loyal and has deserved his games, but he is the definition of mediocrity

He was ok but thought his lack of speed stood out today - Marvel is a quick runners ground without the elements and Jack got left behind.

Has had a decent season though, so persevere with - he’ll have to build his career on winning contested ball, competing and gut running.
