Jack Ross

Biggest surprise for me from last night was how low Jack Ross finished in the voting after playing 19 games.
Thought overall he had a decent year.
There's obviously something the coaches haven't liked or that he's so vanilla he doesn't attract votes.
I'm sure he'd have been a bit disheartened after the count.
Think it says a lot

The coaches rarely played Jack in on particular role but when they did, he looked more than OK. In a settled position he will thrive next season (I hope)

He played wing most of the year didnt he?
It would be interesting to see votes game by game. he appeared to get better as the year went on, I wonder if his votes reflect that.

Played in the midfield quite a bit yesterday, went ok too.
He might need to add that string to his bow, as there is a fair bit of competition on the wing.

Not sure what Ross needs to do to get a game. He showed more in a quarter of football than the big name players.

He should have at least started on the wing ahead of Macintosh.

Did well from my viewing…. Made some nice plays and links… very slow on defence is my knock…. If the ball goes back past him, he doesn’t appear to be motoring back to close out…but might be deceptive

The only caveat is that he came on for the last quarter when the pressure was lower.

He was impressive and had a couple of classy plays

I think his skills are fine, hit baker last night with a tricky kick in the forward line.

To me he is best 23, did more in 1 qtr than others in the whole game
Yeah, thought the Baker pause/assessment and pass was great. That was happening a lot last year on the wing. He seems to have awareness and know when he has space, then delivers. That can compensate for a lack of pace to some degree.

As we always have to say, at least 1 in 4 time it will not work out as is the case with the best players in the league.

Been interesting to see him used more inside in the practice games.
I'm still on the fence with Ross but if he doesn't make his mark this year I can see him being moved on.
