Game Day Tiges v Port

Our lack of scoring shots is the big problem today.

Plenty of times our players streamed forward but the player with the ball wasn’t strong enough to get the handball out. This is where we murder less senior teams. Port prepared well and tackled well.

Fingers crossed we got through without a serious injury and can regroup.

All respect to anyone not happy with a loss but we have 3 a grade mids and our best ruckman out. The dam had to burst at some point.

I didn’t expect to win this week and was really happy with the performance mostly.

We played one of this year’s best sides and weren’t good enough. However good they’ve looked at times in the last month, this 22 can’t win the flag.

prestia cotch and Edwards are massive outs.

this is the first game this year where the outs have cost us dearly.

still, good to get a good look at Port.

for the record, we beat them in QLD with our first mid roster back.

A bloke wearing number 9 goes alright. Same with the bloke wearing number 3. They both play and we win.
Yep. Seems some like to forget we had 3 of our best midfielders in the sidelines which is where the game was lost in the end. Mind you listening to the commentators you'd think it was our full line up

Yep, possibly the loss we had to have to quote the great PJK. Port played great, excellent pressure. We hung in there and showed grit to fight back but a few things caught up with the kids tonight. If we get over Goldie in 9 days that will be 3 from four in a tough section, that's OK given our outs.

Almost a breakout game from Chol tonight - but not quite.

I reckon Caddy is a worry. He's so slow he couldn't run out of the way of the 50m penalty!

Sheesh what a game. I normally only download our wins but I will be downloading this one.
With our full side in we could be anything this year but I'm afraid we may struggle to finish top four which will make it hard no matter who we have in.
I don't mind our losses this year to the Aints, GWS or Port, because I think they are all pretty good but that Hawthorn loss was inexcusable and could cost us big time.
And the draw.
Can we do it from 5th-8th?

I think this is one of those years where its quite tight between the best teams. If the best teams fall into that 5th-8th group (which could well happen this year) yes I think it can be done no problem.

We know our best beats pretty much every team in the comp. Their best midfield beat up on our much less experienced mids. Replace Pickett, Stack and Ross with Cotch, Prestia and Edwards and you have a different game.

I know we don't necessarily value them but our clearance work was diabolical and put too much pressure on the backline which was uncharacteristically poor i thought
Spot on JB. Smashed in the clearances and our backline was uncharacteristically shaky tonight. Especially when the ball hit the deck. I can't recall a worse game from our backline in years.

We need a clearance beast. I could understand us chasing Brad Crouch. We don't value winning clearances enough and it was the reason we lost the game tonight.

Spend this money. International RFC membership. Watch AFL International sub included for free. Then buy a cheap VPN account. Then stream to TV from phone iPad pc whatever.
This is what I do - although I live OS so no VPN. Service and quality is excellent. And you get every game even though it's through my Richmond membership. Did not drop out once today, was like watching normal TV.
The sound discrepancy between the commentators and the crowd is still a bit annoying though.

Rest up, boys. Deserve a break.

Was always going to be a tough ask. Opposition were switched on and played four hard quarters in front of the home crowd. Need some senior bodies back, showed brittleness at times and missed a lot of crucial handballs (same as against GWS).

I was always going to be happy winning 2 out of Dogs, Lions, Port with our injuries but damn, have I raged today at the umpiring...anyhow, Cotch and Houli at least to return for our next match and apparently Nank not too far away either, so not all bad

Yeah I was proud of them for three quarters. The effort was still there late even if the performance wasn’t.

Holy *smile* you're bloody desperate using a vpn in oz to get to watchafl! Go find a mate with foxtel iq and use one of his 5 free watchfoxtel accounts.

Used WAFL for years living OS but yeah was thinking of looking into other options next year. I think the membership plus free account is good value though.

Yeah before this stretch of 4 games, people on here were claiming we would be lucky to win 1. Well we are 2 out of 3 with the easiest (on paper) still to come in 9 days. Sore boys get some rest, we can get Houli back in. 3 from 4 will set us up for finals.

Wonder if Nanks is ready to come back. Soldo just doesn't have the around the ground presence that Nanks has.
