Game Day Tiges v Port

What game did you watch? Put Prestia, Cotchin, Edwards, Houli and Nank in that team and we win comfortably. This was their Grand Final against a 2nd string Tigers team and they won it in the end by a shitty 100 metre free.

we were swarmed all game.

if our system is much vaunted when we win without key players, what happened today?

yes we were knackered but port only had a day extra.

plenty of excuses in here, we were smashed.

Game has changed. Shorter quarters & compressed schedule mean contested ball & clearance is even more important. Hardwick now has to address this issue. Not negotiable anymore. Nank will help but time to try different midfielders. Pickett & Stack especially disappointing. Castagna out of form amongst others. Defence was under siege due to clearance differential.

Bear in mind they had close to their best team, Dwayne tried to make something of it earlier by bringing up their big names that are missing like Burton and Motlop. Yes he really did try to compare our players missing to those 2. Haha

Burton and Motlop ha ha :rotfl2 :rotfl2

If we were smashed why did it take them till 10 minutes to go to win it? They were playing on their home ground as well. Yes we lost but to say we got smashed is clueless.

You win some you lose some.
Happy to see them with a few back in finals if thats all they have got.
Good win to them though.
They were hard at it.

Port can get ahead of themselves now. I can't see them winning the flag with their defence, their defence is weak. If we could have matched them in the middle (which we could with our best players) then they wouldn't be able to dominate the territory as much as they did today.

Have to be realistic. We've played 3 games in 11 days, this one with less than 5 day break. We have some top players out and 10 players with less than 50 games under their belt. We're playing on their sh!thole with their crowd and they're in top form. We're flogged again by the umpires 11 frees to 22. All in all we were always fighting an uphill battle in this game. We lost, we move on. 9 day rest now and then we can get back on the winner's list against Suns.

Yeah we lost but our upside is huge. Power played their Grand Final today.

Okay so Power beat a seriously depleted Tigers lineup. No big deal.
Yeah I'm pissed but I always am when we lose. Not sure how I survived from 1982 to 2017 :mhihi

But if we get our players back we'll be okay. But we won't win a flag with that team.

Lost it in the centre clearance, and on the last just couldn’t break their press into the forward line. Our young players battled but not up to that pressure in the end.

interesting got smashed in the clearance but Soldo
And Edwards, Houli, Cotchin, Astbury and Nank

This was Port at their best, pretty much at full strength and playing at home! Not much more upside to them
We got smashed by the Crows in Adelaide playing their best in about Round 6 2017, from there we learned the level required. This will be a good wake up call for the Tigers.

We need some clearance beasts. We have been destroyed in that area tonight. 39-21 overall and 21-5 in the centre. I'm actually surprised we won that many in the centre.

You're not winning games against good teams when you give them first use that much.
A bloke wearing number 9 goes alright. Same with the bloke wearing number 3. They both play and we win.

Smashed in the centre. The better team won on the day, but we'll get another shot at them

Mate you have very little idea. They had a heap more entries and scoring shots in good areas. Missed 3-4 sodas.

they had us on the back foot all game. How many smooth chains did we have? 2-3?

you weren’t watching. We were smashed.

Sheesh what a game. I normally only download our wins but I will be downloading this one.
With our full side in we could be anything this year but I'm afraid we may struggle to finish top four which will make it hard no matter who we have in.
I don't mind our losses this year to the Aints, GWS or Port, because I think they are all pretty good but that Hawthorn loss was inexcusable and could cost us big time.
And the draw.
Can we do it from 5th-8th?
