GAME DAY Tiges V Giants

hard to watch. Flogged by the opposition and the umps, was like watching a game in the late 80s. How late was that whistle when Cotchy was poleaxed twice? Prestia abused the ump soon after and I don't blame him. Whistles were really late to obvious frees to us in the first half. They eased up a bit when the game was gone.

We're limping to the line this year.
They did the damage early
It was enough to derail us.
If Aish was penalised every time he didn't look at the ball or when he wssconstantly holding Prestia.
This shiit would stop.
But the umpires this year have destroyed us.
The non mark to Nakas against Sydney and the free kick at 3qtr time of the same game, had me fearing they were out to *smile* us this year and they have bent us over.

Well, if the new rules have had an impact on us (maybe they have), then one game out from the end of the year, it’s pretty apparent we haven’t been able to adjust to them.

Why don't we play Shai in the middle ALL the time?? Cotch is battling and Dion tagged out of the game
Said that in the first half of the year. Should be used in there much more. Thought Chimp was pretty good tonight but I don’t like him at centre clearances nowadays. Just the one centre clearance tonight.

What are you talking about Caesar? Nobody’s suggesting he be dropped. Nobody’s suggesting he’s to blame for Richmonds form. It’s just being pointed out that his conversion is a weakness - which it is ! It’s a fact. You’re just sounding like an immature fanboi.

Do you think his conversion rate is good do you ?
I think we have have a whole lot more to worry about than Shai, that's all!

I agree. And that’s not what I’m talking about anyway. I’m just pointing out his conversion is poor.

I’ll ask you again. Do you think his conversion is good ? Are you mature enough to discuss that particular part of Shai’s game ie like we all discuss endless parts of all other player’s games on PRE rather than getting into a flap about stuff that nobody’s even raised like dropping him, or being a root cause of our problems etc.

What do you think of Shai’s conversion ?

Well I am 58 so if I am not mature enough I have problems;), what i'll say is if we are paying Shai $600-$700k a year I say stick him in the middle and let him sink or swim. You don't pay that amount for a small forward but 2goals 2 for a small forward is satisfactory.

Answer the question Caesar.

I may have watched my last game of footy until 2022, might just watch the Grannie.
Footy is almost unwatchable now. It is moving inexorably to a minimal contact possession game.
i was brought up on tough, hard footy which so many of us loved. I fear I have seen the last of it.
What you talking about ? It’s just being pointed out that conversion is a weak part of his game - which it is. People consistently bag out George for his conversion. Shai’s is worse. Fact. Nobody’s blaming him for Richmond’s woes.

Take the pathetic fanboi glasses off.
Agree, For all his undoubted talent his goal kicking is relatively poor. Plenty I’d prefer with ball
In hand when we kicking for goal. Hope he can sharpen it up cause he’s got everything else.

Yes i would like his conversion to be better if that helps you sleep at night :D
For a moment there I thought you were doing a Fonzie on me but you spluttered it out in the end. All good. Pretty simple for him to correct I’d think/hope.

Fwiw if it makes YOU sleep at night, I like your boy Shai and was one of the few to back him in when he debuted, struggled a bit and people were riding him. I thought all he needed was a tank and he’d be fine. Very happy he’s re signed. It was very important that he did.

Exactly. That’s all we’re saying.

Bolton has a shocking ball drop on snaps. So high.
Numerous times, like on the one tonight in Q4, he insists on going for the glory banana snap when he could have easily taken another step or two and kicked it directly through with a standard drop punt. Loves the limelight rather than do the team thing and it has cost games this year e.g. WCE.

Love him but a strong coach would not tolerate this lairising.

Nanks has dropped so many marks tonight. Very uncharacteristic.
So noticeable I wondered if he's been suffering from some concussion effects. He has copped a lot of hits from opposition rucks including from bigger or heavier opponents, like Darcy and Mummy. Gets little protection from umps from high hits.

There was that terrible giveaway goal to Mummy near the end tonight. Really not like Nank. And not one to complain. Very tough sort of footballer that would just wear it and not report a problem.

Dimma didn’t sound like he had many answers tonight - or if he did he wasn’t prepared to say. Just kept going on about how good GWS were and our injuries.

Don’t think it’s been the greatest of years both on and off the ground for Dimma. That’s ok. Everyone has a bad spell. He’s been on top of the ground for a long time now. Reckon he’ll hit back next year.

The curtain has finally closed on us for 2021, and as much as it's going to be weird not being in the finals or the big dance for that matter it's been a great ride, seeing our great club win 3 flags in 4 years.

For RD23, if we beat the Hawks we remain in 10th place as Ess will either beat one of GC or Pies or both.
If we lose to the hawks, then we go down to 11th as saints v freo in RD 23 and thus one of those teams will go ahead of us.

We get ourselves a good fixture for 2022 plus our great draft hand in this years draft...

You watched Short this year? Says he doesn’t get enough credit. Couldn’t have watched many tigers matches. Short has been poor. Not alone but poor.
Harsh tonight. Thought he and DRioli were about our best with the backline, as for most of the year, put under 3 times the pressure of our FL as per usual. I've been very critical of Short for the run-by handball shots at goal that he stuffs up every time, and many poor kicking choices resulting in TOs but it's also that we are always out-numbered up forward and have no fleet-footed marking targets who can really compete in the air.

Parker is an attempt to remedy that but is just not that good. Often it's almost impossible to get an incisive kick into a slow, static FL.

I'm hoping MRJ will be as good as Bob Skilton Jr.

It's his second game, he will get better and has shown good signs.

DS
I agree with you but was he the best choice for a desperate finals-like game tonight, a must-win? That's if we actually wanted to win? Really worry about relying on any player that has only one asset i.e. GB gets, no aerial capacity at all (no wonder at 175cm or whatever he is).

Personally thought the decision to play him again after a typical 1st gamer's effort last week (minimal impact) was really unfair on the kid.

But the cupboard is bare with our forward options. Dudsville due to poor draft selections ... like the wasted pick on Higgins ... kicked 4 for the Aints though.
