Game day thread Tiges vs Saints - round 22 2023

Well what’s to look forward to now given finals are no longer possible.

The final 8 this year looks hopelessly poor, the reason it’s such an open season is that there are few teams of quality.

Let’s look at the bottom of the 8, Carlton - Saints - Sydney - Doggies. What a sloppy lot of teams sitting there, Carlton maybe could raise the bar but the others are just not up to finals footy.

Lets look at those still in contention, Essendon :rotfl2 and GWS outside the 8 on percentage - well maybe there is some class in the GWS team, but really.

The top 4, Collingwood have lost form maybe cause they are now getting some injuries, Lions can’t win away from Brissie, Port maybe and Melbourne a dark but very inconsistent horse.

My pick is on Port to win it but really, it is such a poor man’s top 8 imo (and the AFL want to expand more average teams into the finals race.

My left fielder is a Port v Carlton grannie.

After watching the past 2 weeks . It brings back memories of our on field performances during the dark days of Save Our Skins
Last 2 weeks have been absolutely pathetic when we have been a live chance to play finals
Forget about the list for a minute
The effort shown in past 2 weeks isn’t acceptable of any professional sporting team . The lack of effort is a huge concern for the club .

What's with Broadies celebration after kicking a goal? Rocking the baby, happy for you, no worries. But the Tiges are 6 goals down mate and Vlas laughing? Don't get it sorry.

What a putrid effort from start to finish.. Realistically never in the game.

Pressure was pathetic and the same old same old fumble fumble, miss handball, miss kick, stupid frees etc

This is what we put up with the season on the line.

3 flags, couple of mill in the bank, and nearly time to sail off into the sunset. Time for reset

I did see Thomson Dow do a few really classy moves. Something there to work on.

Don’t mind the celebration.
But the number of times he took on the tackler and got caught was a eye opener.
Doesn’t have the moves any more.
Thought we get another 1-2 years out of him

How about we sack Mini, and bring in another caretaker:rolleyes:

But if we win the next 2 and Sydney, dogs, Essendumb, GWS, Geeelong and crows lose they’re last 2. We’ll finish 8th

Sadly, I'm prepared to name two champs who have a better highlight reel than consistent performance this year.

Dusty and Shai.

Magnificent flashes among more typical acts of ball butchery and indulgence. Its fabulous in a powerful team but demoralising when the team is struggling.
This is why we need a coach who is prepared to make hard calls.

Spark has well and truly gone... next week is not a shoe in and the final home and away match, could be a slaughter based on today's form!

Not sure I would write off Broad. I am not sure what has happened but he was very good early in the season. You don’t lose athleticism in a few months.

Many don’t get it . 2 hours to play footy . That’s what they are paid for
