Game Day thread - Rnd 18 vs Norf

Well not really because you insinuated that his rucking caused the shoulder injury. I'd rather he not be played in the ruck too but that's not necessarily why he was subbed out.
At no time have I said he was injured in a ruck contest. I said I didn’t see how he was injured , but I don’t think he should be played in the ruck at his age and body size. Merely stated he has injured his shoulder.

That was utterly pathetic. David Pitman would be scratching his head thinking why these blokes didn't all get a call out from the coach.

What a laughing stock we have become.

This theory that assistants won us flags just grinds my gears. Coaching is about a team, there is a head coach and assistants but the ultimate decisions come from the head Coach.
Like any leadership position the success of the leader is not just what that person does but the team he or she builds around them and how they are managed, whether they are empowered and listened to.
Having good assistants and leading them and moulding them into a team is a big part of being a good coach imo.
Saying a 3 time premiership coach is some sort of lame duck made to look good by assistants is just garbage imo.
Not garbage at all. 10-16 his assistants weren’t the best. 17-20 is surrounded by a grade assistants. 21 especially and 22 has lower quality assistants. Results track this but more importantly the ridiculous losses track these. He is a good coach but certainly not a great coach

We just lost to the bottom of the ladder team, who get belted by 10+ goals weekly. 14 losses in a row.

That was beyond insipid. Just pathetic

They will sack a coach 22 times a year.
This was always going to happen.
Didn't Shaw coach them to a win against us??

I didn’t like him playing in the ruck and was also frustrated that he’s done his shoulder. Didn’t say rucking caused it.

Well you didn't say it outright but...you did imply it.

Anyway, I agree that he should just be played in defence, especially in his first year of development

The last two weeks have taken me back to the dark days. Thought they were gone for at least a while longer. But they aren’t. That was so Richmond late 90s/2000s it makes me sick in the stomach!

And finally, I will re-watch the game tomorrow but right now I can't be positive about any of the players today. Albright, a couple tried but that is nowhere near enough

Actually you are making assumptions to prove your theory. All you are saying is we have certain assistants and we won some flags and we have some new ones and we didn’t so therefore the assistants must now be bad and the old ones won us the premierships.
You actually have no idea whether the assistants we have now are any good or not because the whole theory is based on a very simplistic analysis.
There are multiple reasons why we may not be the same team as we were in 2020, different assistants is only one of them.

Gee we were that for 30 odd years. Three weeks ago we were top 4 material and got ripped off against the team sitting top. A couple of *smile* losses but Not sure laughing stock just yet.

Yep. We made them look a premiership contender in that first half. Why weren’t we on from the start? The coach has a lot to answer for.
