Game Day thread - Rnd 18 vs Norf

The last two weeks have taken me back to the dark days. Thought they were gone for at least a while longer. But they aren’t. That was so Richmond late 90s/2000s it makes me sick in the stomach!

What bothers me is I starting watching footy in 2000 when I was working in Australia and joined the club. Despite the results I liked the game, liked the team and saw something in them. Fast forward to 2022 and the last two games I see nothing overall to be hopeful about

I'm still trying to work out who is our best set shot for goal outside of 40m? For a team that gets enough inside 50 opportunities, we don't have anyone I would put money on to kick a goal when the pressure is on.

Easy to hang it on Aarts but the game was lost when we gave up 7 goals in a row.

With fresh legs he only had one involvement in play and shat the bed.

Gee we were that for 30 odd years. Three weeks ago we were top 4 material and got ripped off against the team sitting top. A couple of *smile* losses but Not sure laughing stock just yet.

I take solace in the fact that we do have some good kids
Cumberland looks a natural forward
Sonsie did enough today to show me he will be a player
Gibcus is cooked but will be a quality KPD
I like the look of Clarke, Banks and Brown, also Ryan
We have some promise, recruit well and we will be ok.
We have some problems between the ears atm

So? How many premierships have they seen in the past 5 years? Thought Richmond supporters had developed some resilience after the *smile* we went through between 1982 and 2017.

As Dimma said, we are Number 1 in the AFL for Inside 50s.

Our forward line composure/game plan/execution is a Mess.

So stop playing players who contribute to that lack of composure in the FL. Do not play Aarts or Castagna.

Easy to blame the coach and coaches but don't think we have the players atm .
We have a aging injury prone list . Our youngers not good enough or not ready yet . Our midfield is uuggg .

Going to be a very interesting off season for us!

I never knew the there was a finals series for teams with the best inside 50's.
They mean shitt when the ball miss's the forward or it bounces 23 times before getting there.
We have some bad butchers Short isn't a reliable kick, Graham is king of the 12 metre means nothing pass, Baker is a shocking kick and Flappers forget about it.
Rioli is our best kick.

There's nobody on this forum who doesn't love our club mate.

We've been blessed.

But you can't hide from a loss like that. 2 capitulations in 2 weeks from a side that SHOULD be contending.

This was the bottom side and they beat us. We had 3 goals 16 behinds at one stage. We choked against GC after the siren etc

So many posters on here questioned our recruiting last year.

Blind Freddy could see we needed an inside mid.

The club thought better and went best available.

Could be a win if we are playing the long game, but watching Simpkin and Uniacke from the wooden spooners carve us up tonight makes it look like a mistake
